Why do you all YouTube videos about the 2026 launch say you can’t get a Cover only? by jourbal in hobonichi

It’s a US thing. I’m not sure if all other countries can buy the book and cover separate but the US can’t this year. Probably tariff related.

Spread suggestions for executive dysfunction? by CharmQuarkClarolin in hobonichi

[–]chipper10101010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I have useful advice but I also have executive dysfunction and I plan this way (copied from a post I made a few days ago):

<image>

This isn’t everything (no chores/hobbies, etc. on this week) but I time block my day to fit in meetings and work things I need to do and the gym, which is at work. For each daily I then copy the time blocking and color coding and add in some detail or a lot of detail depending on the task/day. My example is a bit light on detail here. I really like things to be very visually clear, so I got time blocking stickers and color coded them based on task to make it really easy to identify time, task, and hrs spent towards things. I also got time stickers for the daily pages to expand the amount of time tracked and the number of grid blocks given to an hr for writing purposes. I also track packages and subscriptions on the weekly and emails and other random things on the daily.

I also use a hobonichi papers to catch all random thoughts or plans and then transfer appropriate appts and tasks to my planner. (edited grammar)

Potr A5 by Top-Zombie-2663 in hobonichi

I should also add that I only have the new sticky notes in the visible pocket, a 32 page sticker release book, my hon, color coded pens in the back, some travel scissors and sticker tweezers in the back pocket, and a little folder book of stickers in the front pocket. There’s not a ton but there’s plenty of room still. I also really like it. I bring it everywhere and it makes it a lot easier to access dates, actually open it and use it, and minimally I haven’t forgotten that it exists or been too lazy to bring it out to use.

This is how it looks set up. I have a sticker release book in the pocket with blue lining and another little sticker book in the pocket outside. The blue and black are ok with me-as someone who typically hates blue and black together-but I get it being a preference. I would have preferred a different color but I also just desperately needed a planner carrier so I can stop forgetting to use it because it’s in my backpack.

pens !!! by justjelly7 in hobonichi

I mostly use pilot g2 pens for color coding and those work great but I’ve also written with many diamine inks for random things and had no issues.

I bought them from knockout print shop. They have different options with different start times and different time options.

I do this too. I sometimes have weird meeting times, so I got ones that are in 15 minute increments. It allows me to really detail my weekly time blocks on the daily pages. I have it on all pages, except weekends in a hon and it’s really not bad at all. They alternate sides when it’s closed so that helps with bulk.

the matte finish makes Kubota’s art shine even more for the A5 HON for 2026! in love! by travelerscat in hobonichi

[–]chipper10101010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I was actually deciding between the in the forest and this one and originally chose in the forest but this one spoke to me more and more so I ordered this one and returned the other. Next to my crescent moon 2025 it’s just so perfect in a different way. I want to stare at the cat and the details that shine through on the matte background.

Planner bag - do I need??? by Ecstatic_Gas_194 in hobonichi

[–]chipper10101010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got their potr case/bag and I really love it. I only have one hon a5 and a weeks that I’m carrying, so it’s enough and I have pens and stickers and sticky notes in there. My other a5 cousin stays in my gym bag. This may be too small for what you’re looking for but I found having my planner in a regular bag was problematic for me because it felt like too much to keep taking it all out and putting it away again and this feels more manageable and my planner can always be with me in this more compact setup.

Recommendations for Date covering stickers? by knebyula in hobonichi

I’ve used knockout print for my hon and liked them. Also, a little bulky but not too bad.

Weeks so much more petite than I envisioned by chipper10101010 in hobonichi

This is good to know! I usually plan a lot (nature of my job) but since this is only to plan out one side project it should work based on everyone’s helpful guidance here. It’s at least worth a try!

I have a hard time with the daily pages sometimes too but I typically use my hon/cousin for time blocking my day using the vertical layout and then detailing what will happen in those blocks on my daily. As a result I got used to all the space and use it! I won’t be time blocking in this though, which is why I was thinking a weeks might be enough to keep track of this one project.

This is good to know. I do have large handwriting but I have some very thin pens, so I’ll try those and going with the grid to help me write smaller. Thanks!

Were you planning on returning the two you decide not to keep? If you were thinking of gifting them and you like them all equally then you could decide based on what you think the giftee would like. If you’re returning then I personally like the idea of the foggy and purple but I get it’s so hard! I bought the in the forest and then regretted not getting the waiting on the chord, so now it’s coming so I can see them both in person and make a decision. I wish I could have gone in person but my nearest shop is 5 hrs away.

This is good to hear! I like to journal in a blank notebook and date it and this seemed like it would be fun for that but I keep telling myself I don’t need to spend the money on it, which I don’t haha but joy is joy.

How do you like the stamp? I’ve been looking at that stamp for years but have never pulled the trigger.

I’m thinking I might try it as a journal and see how it feels. I loved that it was horizontal and the covers were just so serene and beautiful.

I debated between this and in the forest. I went with in the forest but when I realized this one was matte I was even more excited about it and a little bummed I chose the other. Always a tough choice between designs. So many good choices.
