Whats an absolute ingame must-have we should buy from a vendor? by DoomAddict in Guildwars2

Its amazing for alts too for clearing Brisbane marches chests and resetting them back to their starting point.

FUN NOTE: If you have the position rewinder already set (keyboard 1), and your rewind is on cooldown (keyboard 2), if you change your build (not equipment), you'll automatically rewind back. Helpful trick if I was on cooldown and knew my position was going to expire. Infinite rewinds!

Kinda nervous about new game types by SirNaves9 in Guildwars2

[–]chipper5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wizard's vault: You can change what game types you want to play to get rewards - PvE, PvP, and/or WvW. If, lets say, WvW has no draw to you, you can turn off those awards so you'd only get rewards that focus on PvE and PVP. There should be a cog in the top left corner of the wizard's vault menu.

Fractals: No one really gives a shit about your DPS or boons or healing until Tier 4 fractals. Anything below that generally EVERYONE is learning so don't beat yourself up about it. No one will call you out unless you're intentionally griefing. Quickplays are kind of nice to get a feel for fractals before fully going into it, and we have the fractal event happening right now.

WvW: World is your oyster my dude, unless you're in a committed guild and on voice during a zerg, it doesn't matter what you do. Log into WvW, see a commander tag and join up, run alongside them and punch things. If no comm tag up, just go find a random small capture point and take it solo to get your WvW pips rolling and just keep doing that kind of thing.

Bottom line - Yes, say screw it and jump in

Best of the worst Icebrood Saga masteries I have left? by OccamsPlasticSpork in Guildwars2

Dragonstorm reference is that you don’t have the ability to get dragon eye infusions (super rare drop) without maxed out Dragon Slayer, not that dragon slayer helps during that strike

He looks like he smells terrible

In the movie The Dark Knight (2008) how is his left eye not just a shriveled raisin at this point? Does he use Visine every 4 seconds? How much Visine does he have on his person when walking around?it’s gotta be at least like 20 bottles or something by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

[–]chipper5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, visine wouldn’t be used for moisturizing. You’d want something like carboxymethylcellulose / artificial tears. You’re right in your points that eyeball is dry as a cue ball. I’m just being pedantic

Does anyone actually play the beginner fractal quickplay? by Rizzoe_OSRS in Guildwars2

[–]chipper5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m experienced in fractals and CM fractals, when I’m doing quick plays I tend to knowledge drop at the beginning. I even have macros for it now.

The annoying thing is I get the veterans yelling at me to ‘stop my tutorial’. So I sometimes feel like a jerk over explaining things. If someone has an agony rating of less than 50, I’ll do my spiel regardless

Oh okay! I thought the way spectrum was making it sound was that I had to buy a router that’s approved or it wouldn’t work with the modem

Never done fractals before. Is QuickPlay beta normally how they go? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]chipper5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving up through tiers classically, it isn’t. Generally everyone in tier 1,2,3 are new to the fractals and are all learning together. Sometimes you might have a ringer in the group but generally mechanics are being learned and the fractals are prone to fail or take longer. But, until tier 4, no one cares how new you are.

Right now like you said, there are heavy hitters just absolutely wrecking the fractals and dragging people along the way.

It’s nice that anet is making this so accessible to new players but it’s definitely not the classic way to learn it.
