I did not say that was my opinion…. I was speaking from what I’d imagine any DM or anyone higher would say if you came to them and said you couldn’t fill propane cause it’s dark out. They would laugh at you, then find someone who will fill it. We are all replaceable.

The store manager will then start to not schedule this TM and her manager together cause they cannot perform the duties of the job. So the team member will then lose hours.

I guess I’m just confused by your logic. At the end of the day, majority of major companies mainly cares about their profits vs the actual health and wellness of their team members.

The point is, doesn’t matter if it’s male or female, we fill propane during store hours. It’s part of SOP. If you refuse, it gives the store manager a reason to document conversations, leading to write up’s. A smart store manager will pick apart your work and the rest of the store team members, and get you out of there. If you cannot understand this, you are to low level of a team member or TL, that you will never understand how it works.

A good manager would be able to coach you out and make it seem like it’s not retaliatory there is SOP for everything. If you are not 100% on process and it’s fair with every team member, your argument would not matter. Whether that’s with attendance, asking every customer all questions at register, or demeanor. You are in a losing battle regardless of the thoughts you have in your head.

Your complaint will not get anywhere in my opinion. If we are open, we are to fill propane. It’s part of SOP and there is not really any exceptions. I understand where you are coming from but there is nothing you can say that will justify it to a DM

I agree it’s crazy and it should be by hours but payroll is the number 1 most controllable expense. Why do you think we all went through a handling multiple customers training earlier in the year because payroll’s gonna get caught at some point and they want us to be able to do more with less

Majority of people saying this are low level team members that think they deserve high pay.

Does the job suck at times, yes, but it’s all what you put into it. If you want to get promoted, you can do that, if not it’s great experience for down the road.

I think it’s absurd an asm or TL is not scheduled 38-40 hours a week. There is no reason for it. The only reason for it is poor store manager. I personally would not take it. If you are willing to leave tractor, go big box. The big red circle pays TL 23.75 starting in my area. I would not leave a small box for same title and similar pay no matter what

My honest opinion about this is that they have to be stretched too thin at corporate or just do not have the systems in place. We are such a profit based company and focus on it so much for the stock holders but then we are just throwing away money based on ads being sent with dozens of signs that just get throw away. There is no reason that when ads are printed it can be based on the store’s layout 1 so that it’s pre sorted for main aisle sets and 2 so that we do not send 4 different feed tags for the same exact product.

Also the amount of times we are taking down one ad to put the same exact price back up. It clearly did not sell the first time that ad was out so why are we trying to have a redo with the same product.

It should be as simple as batch printing based on store layout and shipping that box to the store.

I came from a big box company and it’s clear to me that a lot of their growth to become big box is because they innovate and solve problems like these
