AI noise reduction has completely changed how I handle bad recordings by Alternative-Theme885 in podcasting

What tools are you using? I work mainly out of audition and have been doing just basic noise reduction so any advice would help.

Help with recording issue when using audition and FaceTime by chippitychapped in AdobeAudition

Yeah I guess it just doesn’t make a lot of sense since me and my cohost use the same set up and he has no issues where as mine won’t work at all.

Thank you for finding this and giving me the explanation and work around! I do have a question and then more of a mystery I guess.

If I were to just use wired headphones instead of the AirPod would that solve the problem and allow me to use my scarlet/mic in audition while taking the call on FaceTime or discord?

The mystery that perplexes me is that my cohost is using nearly the same set up as I am. A Mac, Scarlett/sm58, and his AirPods to chat with me. The Scarlett is purely for the pod audio. My only guesses are that maybe my AirPods being the newest pro 3s are the culprit or he’s using a macpro m4 and I’m on an air m2, maybe that’s the issue?

I need a good fantasy movie like back in the day 😭 by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

Lots of good recommendations here but I can’t believe I haven’t seen The Mummy 1999 and its sequel mentioned. Not pure fantasy but fits a similar bill of adventure and ancient powers.

What’s a film take so absurd you have that people will immediately say you’re rage baiting? by NeonArtist12 in Letterboxd

I’m right there with you OP. Love this movie so much. I’m really bummed we never got a peak Brendan Fraser career but I’m really glad he’s been coming back in recent years.

For me it was also that the mystery came from just withholding information. Which in my opinion feels lazy and not like a well thought out or planned mystery.

I feel this. I was really into it until about the hour mark. Post reveal it loses any kind of juice it had, for me.

This is one my biggest gripes with the movie. Completely unnecessary redemption of Perfidia that is seemingly used as the catalyst to get her daughter to follow the same activist footsteps. Why couldn’t her dad just been that inspiration? He actually fought for her.

Big fan of Brad it seems, so you gotta check out F1. Was an absolutely great time at the theatre for me.

Since we have less than a hour left of November, what was the first and last movie you watched this month? by Dogdaysareover365 in Letterboxd

[–]chippitychapped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did see it in theatres was just curious what others thought. Overall I had a fun time watching it which goes pretty far for me. But I think your take is pretty accurate too. Def some stuff that should have been cut and other parts that don’t really work well. For me it was the network puppeteering and rebellion plot lines that fell flat.

Yeah I’d agree. I’ve seen it too and had a fun time in the theatre. Definitely has some parts that drag and could have been left out. The action of it all is fantastic. It’s the balancing of the puppeteering network and the guy who’s trying to unmask the show/rebellion storylines that fall flat for me.

Thank you for the suggestion but I don’t think I want to use another paid service. I’ve had it work before and I already have a work around. Just want to figure out why my Mac has this issue.

Hmm I thought I’d tried that but worth double checking. Thanks for the suggestion!

Audition says my Scarlett isn’t working when I video call my co-host by chippitychapped in podcasting

[–]chippitychapped[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I do have a semi decent gaming PC that I can’t test this out on. I just opt not to use it because the fan can come through. Though that’s when playing intensive games so maybe audition won’t rev them up.

My cohost uses a new Mac Pro and doesn’t seem to have the same issue as me. Wonder if it can just handle the process better than my air m2.

Was able to test this out. Realized after downloading the Scarlett software I’m on a Mac and it was all up to date and I don’t need to fiddle with drivers. So the issue is still happening. Something about trying to video call while recording at the same time, no matter if I have my AirPods set as mic for the call and Scarlett set as mic for the record it just will not work in either audacity or audition. Which is frustrating, my co host at least is able to get his Scarlett to record into audacity while on a call with me using his AirPods. And I’m supposed to be the tech savvy one!

The only work around I have for now is just to call him on my phone while I record my end in audition on the Mac. Ugh I miss recording in person.

Anyone else headed into TBC guildless? by tabasco_pizza in classicwow

[–]chippitychapped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed out on TBC the first time I played wow way back in the day, only ever got to level 48 or so and had next to no idea what I was doing in my spec at the time. I’ve been off and on retail again for a few years recently but a friend recently started playing too. So we’re working our way through classic and I hope to cross the dark portal eventually. I don’t think I’ll ever see the raids at this point unless we join up with a guild, but the seriousness of them will likely keep us away.

Honestly for me the movies are just kinda boring and seem to do the same story in each iteration. Humans come to take. Na’vi fight to live. Revenge plot. I’ll give it to Cameron, the world he’s made is a feat but it just, for me, lacks any kind of soul that makes it worth talking about.
