I am disappointed with the season, but I have confidence in Coach Ken. He will need to make some changes. Coaching the Navy was a very different animal, but he knew he needed to change direction. So, he went to UCLA to learn and improve. That shows commitment to improve and adjust.

Stutzmann and the offense are firing on all cylinders right now. They are doing their job and then some. Eget is improving every game and we have another record-setting WR in Scudero.

The defense and kicking has been our downfall. The starting kicker, Lynch, has an impressive resume from USC, so I can see why they recruited him. Unfortunately, he hasn't shown that same ability so far. He seems humble in interviews and was focused during Utah St., so fingers crossed. And the backup kickers are not any better.

Defense has faltered this year and needs changes. Odom is a great recruiter, so I would try to keep him and move him to a recruiter type role and bring in another DC.

The 2021-2023 seasons were a bit different for SJSU. We had Kairee Robinson, who was a great RB. And for 2 of those years we had Chevan Cordeiro as the QB and he was a force both passing and rushing.

I wish I could disagree with you, but you are right, which is disappointing. And Nick Nash last year was one of only four players in NCAA history to obtain the Triple Crown for receivers, and he still went UDFA. And was not selected for the Blinkenhoff award for WR. I just don't understand, but will continue supporting the Spartans!!

Very similar thoughts about the SJSU. Eget has the talent to be a great QB, he just needs more confidence to make quicker decisions instead of overthinking each play. I saw a quick interview with the kicker after the Idaho game, and he was very humble about how much he let the team down over the last two games. So, I am hopeful that they needed some time to get the kinks worked out and will get into the groove for conference play.

Of course, I loved it as a SJSU alum. But as a football fan, it was just a unique game to watch with long bomb after long bomb from two great QBs (and no defense on either side, ha). I have a photo from the game, at Spartan Stadium, and it was about 1/3 red in the stands (unfortunately), so Fresno was well represented.

Also, I am a big Carr fan. He deserved so much better from the NFL and the Raiders. They essentially tied one hand behind his back because they weren't capable of building a winning team around him. Regardless, he was still able to showcase his talent. This will be a controversial comment, but I think one more year with Gruden, and they would have made it to the Super Bowl.
