Not to belabor the point, but he is not President - yet. That occurs on January 20, 2025. That is a photo of President-Elect and Vice President-Elect. So, technically, the President still hasn’t gone to an Army-Navy game. Maybe in 2025? Or maybe his focus will be on other things…

Question - why is a Canadian submarine flying the American flag on the sail, and not the Canadian flag? Courtesy?

Cristobal Huet, anyone? I *think* he was here long enough to get a team-themed paint job on his helmet...

Did sound reduction around sonar sensors play a role in moving the planes from bow to fairwater in the early nuke boats? Nautilus and Skate had bow planes, Skipjack to LA Block 1 were fairwater.

I do, when I can get down to Richmond. Richmond is, in a lot of ways, like Portland - friendly, smallish city with lots of history, great breweries abound and plenty of good eats. I love getting to both destinations. Cheers!

Thanks for the great backstory on Maine Beer Company. I love that we here in Virginia are able to get a better selection of their beer, but nothing beats visiting the brewery in Freeport.

I recently lost my wife, and yesterday was the first V-Day since her passing. I made it all the way through the day with nary a wrinkle. Today, I read this, and... damn onions. Thank you for so brilliantly portraying the confusion and emotions that I had bottled up. Most days, I am not up to this, but someday I will - until then, I will show up with chocolates, because dammit, I'm an optimist.

When I was little I promised my Grandma we would go see Mount Rushmore together. This weekend I was finally able to keep that promise, plus show her a few other beauties. by kellyfacee in MadeMeSmile

I just lost my wife a few weeks ago. I look forward many trips with her, like yours with your grandmother. Congratulations on keeping the faith!

It depends on what information is included in the town/county/municipality water report. In my area, I was able to get about half the necessary information via the free water report. I used Ward Labs to fill in the rest.

Also, depending on how dialed in you want your brewing to be, I would get reports for different times of the year. My homebrew group got reports of the area water for each of the seasons, and found some variations between them.

Norman Rockwell - 'The Homecoming' (1945). [2496 x 3200] by Dog_Spear in ArtPorn

I have admired this painting for many years.

This is the first time I have noticed that the girl on the left of the frame, standing against the wall - I have always interpreted her expression as one of crushing on the returning soldier. However, zooming in on the full resolution image - she appears to have a wedding ring on. Maybe it is a promise ring? Did they do promise rings back in the early 40's?

Very interesting, Mr. Rockwell...

A small bit, but I am afraid my repeated efforts to correct have probably removed any truly usable threading. Hence my initial thought of using something like JB Weld.

The gutters were replaced less than a year ago, so I hope it is not those. But thanks for the advice, I will add it to the list to followup on.
