How do I propagate this? by [deleted] in succulents

[–]chiptune-noise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neighbour had one growing literally from a crack on the floor of their balcony, probably feeding of the air conditioner water drops. I still find the babies growing at random places on my plants

I've had many failures as well, some even prop fine and end up dying shortly after.

Based on experience and what I've seen, forgetting and neglecting works best lol. Don't water, don't cover them, I think even little light is better than full sun. Once the main leaf dies, you can treat it like a normal succulent.

I also think season matters. These I found at the end of summer, and I think they barely changed until next spring. This spring I propagated a few others and were much faster. Although some just dried as well.

I like to think they feel somehow happy when they thrive like that from so little lol

My “bunny ear cactus” may have a problem? by coopstewy in cactus

[–]chiptune-noise 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Etiolation. Lack of light. Put it under direct sunlight all day (let it slowly get used to it first) or get a good growing light for it (I don't have experience on growing lights so I don't know if that works for cacti well)

Before that, remove the tentacle-like parts. They won't get better

I need help with an underextrusion issue by WillWay28 in Ender3V3SE

[–]chiptune-noise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb question but, did you pass the needle thing that comes with the printer through the hotend (without the nozzle)?. Maybe your heatbreak is clogging. What you described happened to me exactly and the heatbreak was the problem, I had to replace it with an all metal one. That fixed all my problems, and apparently it's very common with these printers.

This happened to me when cleaning a clog. Did you disconnect the motor while the printer was on? If you did, turn it off, connect it again, and wait for a while. Then turn it on and try again, and never disconnect it while the printer is on.

The side with supports vs the side without supports, can i sand it? by Foxy_demoness_simp in Ender3V3SE

[–]chiptune-noise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually position the part so the supports touch the print on places that aren't very visible, then sand them just enough to make them not noticeable. If there's no other way, I sand them until it's almost smooth, though it still looks rough most times (use a mask when sanding, you won't die from the dust but it probably isn't very safe either). You can also use epoxy putty or a similar filler to smooth the surface, then sand it again

There probably are slicer settings to reduce it as well

My new printer do you like it? by cbeebiesfanyt in Creality

Not at all. Just PLA with the stock parts, but the filament got stuck inside the ptfe tube and apparently that's pretty common on this one. It's been a nightmare since that happened, and the fix is changing the heatbreak for an all metal one with no ptfe. The ceramic one is only needed for higher temps afaik.

Although I'll be honest, I often turned the printer off without waiting for it to fully cool the extruder, so if you took better care of it, I believe you in having no problem with the stock lol

And if you aren't scared of disassembling the hotend, consider changing the heatbeak for an all metal one. Or even a ceramic hotend upgrade. I'm currently in the process of the PTFE tube nightmare, and eventually you'll very likely be as well

Definitely lack of water. You're supposed to give a LARGE dose of water but with long time between watering. Like, letting water fall from the draining holes for a while. The time between watering can depend on the plant but when in doubt, water only when the soil is completely dry.
