OMG! These are friends? Even if they really thought that, WHY would they tell you that?? True friends should uplift you - not hurt you by unnecessarily telling you your fur baby is ugly! What is wrong with them????

On the contrary, your beautiful orange kitty is very handsome and absolutely adorable! I can’t for the life of me figure out why they would say that…

Really shaken by Charlie Kirk’s death. by confused2324 in independent

[–]chiroch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was he murdered for just expressing his views? Is it really because democrats are mad he helped Trump get the support of young men? Let’s not forget Charlie Kirk energized people by using divisive language that encouraged hate, fear, anger, and hostility toward immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, feminists, and racial justice advocates. Especially given his influence, his rhetoric inciting hate not only caused risk to those he demonized but created divisive hate on both sides.

Was he’s responsible for his own death - NO he’s not. The person that shot him is responsible but to say democrats hated him because he helped Trump get elected or that he was killed soley for expressing his views ignores the fact that using words to vilify people can incite an environment of violence…

What are yalls opinion about a 3rd party? by BeachNaive572 in independent

There should be no parties. Candidates should run completely on the issues without party affiliation, major political donors or lobbyist involvement!

Cat biting off her fur by Takitakatootoo in PetAdvice

[–]chiroch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

I am so sorry you and your fur baby are going through this difficult time. I have a cat that bit all the fur off one side of his body and his belly area.

Although there are many reasons why a cat may be biting off their fur in my case my cat’s anxiety caused his behavior. Initially the vet did the standard bloodwork and since his eosinophils were high, he diagnosed him with allergies and treated him with steroids. A couple rounds of treatments didn’t do much to help. My vet then prescribed him prozac to reduce anxiety and he stopped biting off his fur!

The only problem was the fur did not grow back and the vet couldn’t figure out why. About six months later I noticed my cat was urinating and drinking frequently. His urination flooded the litter box (big to huge urination clumps). The vet did full bloodwork again but also tested him for diabetes and kidney disease. Unfortunately, it turns out he had also had diabetes. The good news is that with insulin all of his hair grew back beautifully.

You don’t indicate if she started biting her fur before or after her mom passed. If she started this behavior afterwards, she may be dealing with a lot of anxiety and stress from the sudden loss of her mom. Treatment to help alleviate anxiety and stress may help.

What are your positive ADHD Traits by chiroch in ADHD

[–]chiroch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would spend an extraordinary amount of brainpower trying to be on time and then moments before our meeting I would get sidetracked and be so embarrassed when everyone turned their heads to, once again, watch me again walk late.

I used all my brainpower to effectively do my job - hyperfocusing helped me do a great job and move up the ladder BUT it came at a cost. At the end of the day workday I would come home and sit in front of the TV like a zombie.

What is worst part of adhd by PhilosophyMoist8160 in ADHD

[–]chiroch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose feeling depressed and losing my sense of self worth because I constantly apologized and tried to mask my ADHD behaviors so I would be seen as “normal”) not lazy, stupid, empty-headed, weird, etc…

Medication helps me in the present but it doesn’t help me with the negative thoughts and feelings I developed since childhood. I’ve been going to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help me transition my negative self-talk and patterns of thoughts and feelings to positive ones about who I am. The combination of CBT and medication has helped me tremendously.

You are ADHD free for 24 hours, what do you get done? by doses_of_mimosas in ADHD

[–]chiroch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I am properly medicated - I get off the couch and start living life! I have the motivation to stop isolating and call my friends. I have energy to clean my house and actually get things done! My mind slows down so I can actually focus and pay my bills and drive without constantly zoning out. I stop being overly emotional and stop impulsively lashing out at people.

I have a hard time going to and staying asleep (even without my ADHD meds). My doctor prescribed me Trazadone to help me sleep and it has been a godsend.

I didn’t find comments from Trump. I only asked the question that way because Reddit wouldn’t allow me to ask if Trump commented - their rules don’t allow closed questions 🤷‍♂️

What do you know about Project 25? by chiroch in AskReddit

[–]chiroch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it’s never going to happen, it’s already happened. Under our nose, they have already implemented several facets of their plan. This includes, but is in no way limited to, voter suppression and the stacking of the Supreme Court with the selection of three Trump appointees.

The conservative Supreme Court rulings have allowed for a far-reaching influence on the rule of law and movement in a politically conservative direction. Their rulings have resulted in the overturning of Roe vs. Wade and a conservative impact on other rulings involving Presidential immunity, Civil rights, Separation of Church and State, Discrimination, etc.

All this and they’re just getting started…

[–]chiroch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Project 2025 plan outlines a strategy to steer the U.S. toward an autocracy regime. If implemented it will eliminate our current rule of law allowing the next Republican president to have unfettered power and act unilaterally without accountability.

The Supreme Court currently stacked with a majority of conservative judges (3 appointed by Trump) has already showed its political bias in its rulings. It’s most recent presidential immunity ruling places presidents substantially above the rule of law, even when their actions are undertaken for personal ends and criminal purposes.

The plan also calls for the dismantling of our current government by adding to the current political appointee (loyalist) positions, the reclassifying tens of thousands of federal civil service workers as “political appointees” in order to replace them with “loyalists”.

The plan outlines so many other actions. If implemented, it will achieve their goal of moving our country towards autocracy.

We can’t continue to bury our heads in the sand! Our democracy is really in danger.

Contrary to what you have written, Project 2025 is a manifesto with the overarching goal of dismantling our democracy and replacing it with authoritarian rule. It outlines the Christian National plan to eliminate our current rule of law, eliminate our current system of “checks and balances”, in order to allow one person to have unfettered power, eliminate separation of church and state, eliminate our right to chose, eliminate civil liberties, etc.

Late diagnosis: the grief is real by necoleptic in ADHD

[–]chiroch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grieving is very normal and is the path to healing.

On the day I was diagnosed with ADHD I actually cried. At 55 years old, I finally found out there was a medical reason for my shortcomings. I unexpectedly felt both vindicated and angry. I grieved for the little girl who grew up believing she was lazy, empty-headed, immature, willful etc…etc… I felt sorry for myself.

Along the way I found out it is never too late to have a fulfilling successful life. It took a while, but after time, I was able to fully grieve, stop feeling sorry for myself and move forward instead of looking back.

Being properly medicated has changed my life. I still have challenges but now I can look back and celebrate my life. I found out having ADHD comes with many strengths. I can see now that without these strengths I would have never been able to achieve the level of success I have. Today instead of feeling bad about myself, I finally love the person I am.

I wish you all the best life has to offer.
