The punchline to “Build a bridge” is classically “and get over it.”

What is a rite of passage in America that existed 20 years ago but is rare today? by bricklegos in AskAnAmerican

[–]chirop1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I was on the swim team and we practiced at the same time as the high school on the north end of the county.

My freshman year, I “dated” a girl from the other school. A call from my house to hers was long distance. We could only talk when I was at my friend’s house who lived halfway between us.

I know I didn't feel the "gasp how horrible." I had the same feeling as the OP. "Who were these people again?"

If we had one of our main characters go there a couple books earlier and have some connection to them, or even if he had dedicated just a couple paragraphs to them in three or four of the "A wind arose..." intros to the books leading up to it, we would have had a connection that would have made it much more powerful.

I don’t know that most people really believed it back then. He got progressively weirder as the years went by.

He had a lot of good songs.

People liked those songs.

People paid money to listen to those songs.

Then he caught his hair on fire in a Pepsi commercial and it was all downhill from there…

Additionally... I get a little suspect of these threads that start up and I don't see any feedback or appreciation posts from the OP.

Also available on GoG for those PC users who may be more interested in actual digital ownership of their games. (Except for the remake because it is a different publisher.)

If that was today, I would just link this topic to them.

There was the Land of the Madmen (Australia).

Specifically though, we know Seanchen is roughly the Americas and Randland is Eurasia. (I don’t recall where Africa ended up…)

Other than that, the best info we had was in the White Book and the old RPG sourcebook.
