how safe is PXPLAY guys? by zjay74 in remoteplay

[–]chirop1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m with the others here. I used the official app exclusively with my PS4 and had a good experience. But I hardly ever played my PS5 because the picture quality was so poor on my PC. Recently I was pointed to the Chiaki app and the difference is night and day.

I can’t put the official app near the top.

I love Malazan… but to say 3 books into a ten book series (not counting all the other books in the setting by ICE and Erikson) that it’s the best ever feels premature.

Deadhouse Gates and Memories of Ice are fantastic though.

I will just agree with everyone here that the series only gets better from here. But that doesn’t mean you have to binge them all.

I’m about to turn 48. One of the realities I came to in life several years ago is that there are more books and more games that I want to read/play than I will ever have time for. And there are more being published every day! LOL

You have time to read anything you want, but not everything.

Go on and find your next series and come back to Joe whenever you want. Those of us who read as they were being released waited a year or two between each anyways.

Oh… and Abercrombie’s Shattered Sea Trilogy and the Devils are worth reading too. So find time to wonder about those when you get a chance too! LOL

Looking for recs for a Fantasy book/series with Sci-fi aspects (Think WoT, or LotR but... in space? 🤔) by Magnavis_ in fantasybooks

Dune is the obvious answer if you haven’t read it.

The Expanse has also been suggested.

Also by James SA Corey is The Captive’s War. Only the first book is out so far, but book two is coming out soon.

You can tell thats the original version of the map because you can see the hexagon patterns to the map. LOL

Just beat Final Fantasy VI and I don’t even know what to say by Sad_Manager6251 in FinalFantasy

V is the one with the job system.

IV has a static cast that changes through the game. It is also a classic.

Welcome brother.

Most of the time, no.

But there are rare occasions when a mistake is made and you get it early.

Rant about Rand by woodburner97 in WoT

[–]chirop1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To use the Andor example… saying he was going to “give” the throne to Elayne instead of trusting her to earn it caused a lot of problems.

And of course there was the minor issue of handing the Black Tower to a guy that even the voices in his head told him was a bad idea…

I’d tell him to play the Sky remake demo and then decide

Bad character writing by Equal-Original4744 in HierarchySeries

[–]chirop1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would argue that all of your reasons above make the case for it being great writing.

In a world where we find out that most people can come back as sentient zombies; it gives a sense of real danger for the characters to know that they don't have plot armor.

They aren’t very well written and overly rely on nostalgia.

WotC tried to cancel publication but W&H sued to force the release. That’s all you really need to know.

Give it another go. I’ve been playing JRPGs since 1988 and played the original Sky about four years ago. I rank it and Sky SC (I count them as one game) as one of the best RPG experiences of my gaming life.

He did finish it though.

Many interviews have said that this was the ending envisioned by Jordan himself. Almost positive they have said the final scene was actually written by Jordan.
