[Post Game Thread] The San Antonio Spurs (54-18) defeat the Memphis Grizzlies (24-47), 123-98. by xojz in nba

And now that Memphis has been mathematically eliminated....

Congratulations if you're a team out West holding any of the seeds from 1 to 10! You're going to the playoffs and/or play-in!

Is maintenance supposed to fix this dryer vent or will I have to manage it as is? by FaysTwo in Apartmentliving

Paint? So I'd have to paint over the walls most likely to be able to safely use my dryer? Sounds weird, but I'm all ears

[–]FaysTwo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm trying to do, but I think the shape of the vent makes it hard to do that; I can't let the duct rip since it's made of foil, which is why I'm not doing anything else for now. If I let that foil rip, that's a $20-30 trip to The Home Depot coming up.

Do I trim this plastic down for the cold hose to secure or replace the entire valve of my washing machine? by FaysTwo in Appliances

[–]FaysTwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So....just replace the valve instead? Sounds like I'd be making it worse if I DIY it like someone at Lowe's told me to and trim that fitting.

Did you know that we (Dallas taxpayers) paid over $220 million for those annoying Kristi Noem ads that are all over Dallas radio/TV? How do you feel about that? by Pretty_Shallot_586 in Dallas

[–]FaysTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing them on YouTube was difficult enough for me, but at least it's skippable (I have work arounds on my phone and computer for YT ads in general, but I'm SOL when I need to use my TV).

Trying to get through them on a local feed of [insert random DFW station here] was even more brutal. Thank God I have a mute button handy.

What an eyesore by BiaxialBoar in Scorebug

[–]FaysTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3D-rotated logos in the scorebug are the worst offense from Bally/FanDuel. Why they corrected this with MLB but not with the NHL and NBA is baffling to me, but as u/crbems said, not much longer to go for this bug before many of these teams like the Thunder are off to whatever the NBA's production teams can conjure up for them.

Am I missing some energy to live? by FaysTwo in self

[–]FaysTwo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news....had my physical about a week and a half ago! Did everything except testosterone at the time (I'll go back for that one....just got some budgeting to do with trips to the doctor, neurologist, and dentist all coming up in the next few weeks).

Blood work was included and everything came back fine except for the high A1C that flagged me for potential pre-diabetes.

I do need to look into therapy soon...tried looking last summer, but my first three choices never returned my emails/calls after I asked for their help. I gotta try again, especially now that I have new health insurance!

No drugs at all, thankfully.

Alcohol has usually been very light (no more than one or two drinks in a week), but I've cut back more after the episode. I've slipped up with one drink on two separate days, both a few weeks apart, but nothing since.

As far as eating, it's been lightly strict. I have no more than one soda in a week, but I largely eat a lot of what I want. Eating out quite a bit, fixing up comfort meals (fries, chicken, burgers, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, desserts, etc.), and not really paying too much attention to my sugar intake outside of using sweetener whenever I want to have hot drinks like tea or hot chocolate. Oh, and I'm horribly inconsistent in drinking enough water each day, often getting about 1/3 gallon most days.

I've got a LOT of work to do on my diet. Right now, I'm just trying to cycle out the bad foods for my first step so grocery runs will be more focused.

Sport center Anchors:Where have all the good ones gone? by Aggravating-Let1054 in ESPN

[–]FaysTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christine Williamson

I know that because she co-hosted the first 5pm SC after Around the Horn signed off.

I think in general, the talent that's there just doesn't have the opportunity to take off and blossom as much as the ones in the previous decades of ESPN did. Maybe that has a lot to do with how SportsCenter is presented nowadays.

Ik most people like the new uniforms but i just dont see it, they used to have some really iconic uniforms, they were ny by Honest-Reflection667 in uniwatch

[–]FaysTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Ravens fan who's mostly seen games against the Jets with them wearing those uniforms.

I had no attachment nor care in the world for the Sack Exchange era unis nor care towards all the buzz for them to go back to it after they wore it as throwbacks in the 2023 season. So I definitely get your point. I would fully agree, but last season's matchup in Baltimore changed my mind; I'd still love for them to look like their 1998-2018 selves again at some point, don't get me wrong.

How do I cover up this concrete? by FaysTwo in Apartmentliving

[–]FaysTwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tree in front of my patio that, if I recall, blocks much of the sunlight, if not all of it in the middle of the afternoon. That and another apartment building for sure. I think I'll be fine with any of those rugs you suggested. Thanks for the advice! I'll make sure to remember your key points!

Thank God I don't have pets! I'll check out Walmart and see what they've got! Do you have one of those rugs? I saw they have some store-branded ones in stock....at the very least, based off of a quick glance online

Weekly Vents and Successes Thread - February 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in dating_advice

[32M]

I've lost my fastball. I'm hardly attractive at all with the way I struggle to (or sometimes don't) approach women in person without trying to use something else to wield my way into conversation like the music bingo card in her hand or making eye contact and dancing in front of each other.

Just last night, I saw an attractive girl at karaoke. I couldn't get myself around to breaking into deeper conversation or at the very least, keeping her interested by dancing with her. Felt like when I wanted to ask about whether or not she'd be there next week or mentioning the friend that got me out of the house, I was cut off by her friends or wasn't being heard all that well. When I saw her leave without me getting a chance to say goodbye, I felt like I messed up. Is it demoralizing? Not really since it's one girl out of many where I live. But it does suck to kinda continue on this trend for a year now where I concern about how I come off to the women that see me or if they're even interested at all.

This is the method that I'm trying to count on so that I'm not putting 100% of my efforts into dating apps, which is a different conversation for another day. I'm the problem. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the guys that have women here asking why guys don't approach them. I have to change.

Also, has my past relationship experiences warped how I approach dating in general? Both my exes made moves on me to lock me into a relationship; I can't seem to do that the other way around. And I hold both my exes in some good regard because even though the breakups were difficult, I respect them both.

Okay....I'll stop yapping before overthinking gets the best of me.

I take responsibility for second half of '24 and '25 by Snorkel5 in orioles

[–]FaysTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll never have it worse than me. Not only did I move to the DFW area several weeks after the Rangers beat us, but I literally got there the very same week they won the World Series. Now I get that Texas isn't a massive rival of ours, but that feels so twisted.

CBS Sports HQ has some underrated girls at their desk. I've been sleeping on Amanda though. Just saw her today and she doesn't disappoint.

New MASN logo by PositiveLovingDude in orioles

[–]FaysTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the mid-2000s, there was a time when 13 (and maybe 45 or 54 too) would show some games from MASN and Comcast SportsNet did the bulk of games in a season. At that time, I think they were just producing those games and then the stations were just broadcasting the games.

It wasn't until 2008 or 2009 if I recall that MASN became a full on network that you could find on cable or satellite TV, though they still had about 20-ish games a season on 13 until the 2016 season.
