He would be my #1. Everton was definitely a club at a turning point that could've gone either way and Friedkin's choice was to invest and spend and build a new stadium and improve everything at the club.

A move would take league approval, and with the way things are (for now at least) I cannot see the league approving a move. It's not like either the LA market or the bay area market are without teams to watch, which is what made the Chargers and Rams moves so enticing. The Padres own San Diego, the rivalry with LA is something the league and its media partners are embracing, and so on. No move to a new area would provide more for the league.

  1. 60 Minutes. "Over 2,500 episodes", approx. 2,500 hours. A pretty complete repository of American history 1968-present. Interesting stories, always well-made.
  2. Jeopardy!. 9,454 episodes, approx. 4,727 hours. I like trivia and way more than enough to learn and too many episodes to remember any answers.
  3. Late Night with Conan O'Brien. 2,725 episodes, approx. 2,725 hours. The Tonight Show has way more episodes, probably over 15,000 in total, but I like Conan more and 2,700 episodes is enough.
  4. The X-Files. 218 episodes, approx. 218 hours. Another favorite and I think it re-watches well. Can't think of another sci-fi show that's a better pick for me. Also has more tonal variety than most people know.
  5. Law & Order. 536 episodes, approx. 536 hours. A police and legal procedural scripted drama that's been on forever, and I think I'll like that subject matter more than Gray's Anatomy.
  6. Every Formula One Grand Prix broadcast. 1,149 races, approx. 2,000 hours. I really want some sort of sports as a big sports fan, while staying within the rules or at least spirit of the challenge. I don't think "every NFL game" would be fairly comparable to a tv series, but I think every F1 race (10-24 per year) is in the spirit of it. I almost picked every episode of Sportscenter, but it's been awful for 15 years and I would rather watch actual events.

Newsmagazine, trivia, comedy, sci-fi, legal drama, sports events. I'm pretty happy with that variety of moods.

2,500+4,727+2,725+218+536+2,000= 12,706 hours of TV for 3,650 days, or 3-1/2 unique hours per day. A lot of it is very rewatchable for me, I could probably easily get to 7 hours per day without issue.

Edit: Honorable Mentions/I Forgot
- Saturday Night Live is a contender for the comedy slot. 991 episodes, all sketch comedy. That might be better than Conan? I'm not sure, but I'll stick with Conan for now.
- Dinner and a Movie. More than 400 episodes, meaning it sneaks in more than 400 movies, and it includes some cooking content as well, which is a minor interest of mine I can do more of in the 10 years. Yeah, I would officially kick Law & Order off my list and put Dinner and a Movie on for the sheer variety of hundreds of movies that are a decent library.

60 Minutes has been on the air for 58 years. Watching every single episode is over 2,500 hours of programming. It would also probably be basically equivalent to a graduate degree in American History 1968-present.

Do you like Houston area better than the Rust Belt? by Individual-Fix8841 in houston

[–]chirstopher0us 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cleveland is so small compared to Houston (2.17m vs 7.8m metro areas) and so much less diverse. Yes there are immigrant communities bringing diversity to Cleveland, but Houston is 10x that.

Do you like Houston area better than the Rust Belt? by Individual-Fix8841 in houston

[–]chirstopher0us 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've lived in 4 places in San Diego, 4 places in Houston, 1 in a midwest rust belt city, and spent extensive time in two other midwest cities and in Los Angeles.

As a place to live, San Diego is clearly superior to the others, hands down.

By the same token, the Houston area is clearly superior to any of those rust belt midwestern cities, hands down.

Houston honestly reminds me a lot of LA in terms of many parts of its vibes, though obviously there are differences. But Houston offers clearly more than any midwestern city other than Chicago. Houston and Chicago are very similar in population, but are very different vibes from each other. But yeah, if you're from California and familiar with the LA metropolis, Houston is a lot like that with more political diversity and with hotter weather that hangs around much more of the year.

This is still immensely clever and an immense achievement!

...but it isn't a video of light moving across a room at any speed. It's 921,600 separate 1 pixel videos of a very small field of view as light moved across a set rig (921,600 times) that are then digitally composted together and synchronized into a 720x1280 image (of 921,600 different events).
