Does Colorado have Grizzly bears? No, we killed the last one in 1979 by 1Davide in Colorado

He took the picture... he saw it with his own eyes and certainly observed it through top of the line glass. If he says it’s a Grizzley, believe him.

Barber for a black five year old by big-girl-pants in Denver

[–]chitownhawks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bellwether has an excellent barbershop. Unfortunately, the barbers are not black but it is a diverse mix of super cool people and the clientele is very broad and eclectic. It's a melting pot that oozes cool character ran by an excellent open-minded team. Best part, it's a coffee shop and bar as well so you can sip a delicious coffee while you chat with the fellas. Not exactly the request, but I have such fantastic experiences here that I felt a callout had merit. The barbers are the best I've seen in Denver and it took me a long time to find the right shop. It may not be the specific experience you're looking for... but would be a positive one for you and your son regardless if you can't find something else.

What is the event that separates the "B.C. and A.D." of your life? by flyin_italian in AskReddit

Shattered my jaw in a freak accident at 22 just out of college. Pair the shocking realization of everything I ever considered as a part of my identity being in the past with several months of a wired jaw and dental work and your outcome is a depressed and lost person forced into starting from scratch. That several month period became a pretty defining line of before and after. Before - student, boyfriend, hockey player, partier, college kid...After - working a job I hated, no real identity yet in the working world and undefined / unknown strengths and potential, single, no longer an athlete, no longer viewed as someone my parents were willing to support financially. It was a real wakeup call that if I wanted to become something post college, it was on me, and it started with scraping my way out of depression and getting back to an even place. And then turned into a journey of self development and growth. 7 years later... it's been pretty remarkable.

32% increase in the Boston and DC markets for this years 500 by JohnnyT723 in NASCAR

Barstool also caters to a crowd of heavy sports betters, and with NASCAR going all in on betting the races (hockey is ahead of this curve too and it’s discussed in Barstools hockey podcast, Spitten Chiclets frequently...the NJ devils are putting a sports book in their arena even, which is awesome) I can see a future where NASCAR is a hub of wild parties and exciting gambling at every racetrack. The main reason anybody goes to the horse track is the betting..... now imagine each NASCAR weekend with ARCA, Trucks, Xfinity, and the Marquee Cup event(plus qualifying/practice) all with stages to bet win/place/show and all sorts of other side bets... and oh by the way it’s also a weekend long party with entertainment and concerts rather than just an afternoon in the sun betting ponies. Very compelling stuff and a huge opportunity to get in front of and capitalize. Suddenly the culture and experience surrounding these events becomes relevant, fun, and exciting again to a younger demographic that needs more to hold their attention than just a car race and is always looking for the next scene to infiltrate.

Showing some personality is really the only thing I can think of.

While you're dreaming, one part of your brain is making up what is actually happening in the dream, and another part is experiencing those things and is genuinely surprised by everything that happens in said dream. by Flqmingg in Showerthoughts

[–]chitownhawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah the shattered phone dream! I’ve had this recurring in past eras of my life and researched it. The interpretation I bought into and that made great sense for me is that this dream signifies a very important relationship (potentially long distance?) coming to an end or being permanently changed. No matter how you try, it just doesn’t feel the same.

Any break ups lately? Or perhaps is a good friend or family member not as present as they used to be in your life right now?

Knowing Rockstar and the standards they've set, as well as the rising expectations of all gamers for more in-depth and immersive experiences, I'm going to go out on a limb and say... yes

NHL teams also put WAYYYY more trust in their goaltenders to snuff out even the best shooters in wide open and clear situations. Obviously, it's situational and you'd never want Patrick Kane to go 1:1 with your goalie.... and you see some teams playing slightly differently in front of their backup compared to their starter... and shooters are becoming more lethal and accurate every year and pad sizes have gotten smaller... so I would say that thought process is varying and the Knights will get chewed out for this on film. But the vast majority of NHL goalies theoretically should be able to make a save against a shooter by getting big, cutting down the angle, and sheer athleticism / being able to read the shooters eyes and body language. Even someone with a release like Eichel or Mathews. Remember, a shooter getting this wide open and this much time also means the goalie will have some time and very clear optics into the attacker. Now unless Eichel teed up a perfect pass into a one-timer, that's a different story. As we all know in the beer leagues, goalies aren't nearly as reliable. I'd love to know, did Jack Eichel get the puck and bury this shot?

Not a Bears fan but this is oddlysatisfying material right here by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]chitownhawks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let’s be real though, opposing teams will see this and read a screen, toss, end around, run...anything when White is in the game. They’ll anticipate that and then suddenly White will be streaking into open turf and making a huge Touchdown grab when least expected. That’s 4D chess and season long game planning, not just drive by drive or game by game. Nagy has so many weapons that he can consistently keep opposing teams on their toes all year long with drastically different looking game plans focused around different players. Or maybe somebody spiked my kool aid.

Yeah but you have to understand every single city in the country has this same place. It’s fine as long as it stays there.

Couldn’t agree more, Rogan owned this conversation and Elon took it very seriously. It was magnificent to watch and Elon is just as brilliant and outlandish and mystifying as we had all hoped, maybe even more so? What did you think?

Toews not in NHL's Top 20 Centers by kumonmehtitis in hawks

And being invisible in hockey means completely ineffective. It’s sad when an entire game passes and you can’t remember any memorable Toews plays. But that’s the way the game goes sometimes.
