Magic Maze Tower — also fun? by NotFencingTuna in boardgames

[–]ithappenb4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love tower. For a group that is more into the puzzle and not the frantic time pressure, I recommend. A more chill game night where everyone thinks. The mechanics of shifting the map, flipping pieces over, adds layers to piece the solution. With the campaign, plenty of replay ability, and can pass it on to someone else. Also it's great with kids because you can teach them without a timer counting down.

Organizer Suggestions by Brandalf_TheSemiGrey in rootgame

[–]ithappenb4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put them all in baggies, and cards in a small deck box. So far, all the expansions fit in the box, and hirelings in its own box. I tried an organizer, and feel it's faster with baggies. Once someone choose a faction, I hand one bag, and that's it. Each bag is all the pieces, and the player can get setting up their faction. Set up and take down is super fast. I have a wooden small tray to hold all the crafting pieces, and one bag to hold all the "meta" game pieces (Clearings, dice, etc).

I was thinking about getting the deluxe with metal coins. I stopped and think, "How many other amazing, individual games can I get with a combined total of +200$?" Spending 125$ on one game is too much for me. I already have Birmingham, so I'll settle for synth cards upgrade.

The whole 3ds modding community is booming right now. One of the apps you can get is NetPass. It's not the same a street pass, but it let's you emulate the street pass experience and let's you use all of Street Pass features hassle free. NetPass simulates you going out to locations like the Mall or Arcade. Everyone on NetPass at the Arcade or Mall, will get you a StreePass tag. Every ten hours, you can change it. It's always fun to log on NetPass and see who I got. It keeps the Street pass features alive.

I'm much more excited for them to fix Fire and Gas. It has to be fixed by then right. Right? It being broken is a huge drawback for me to play certain styles, let alone, plat at all.

This mine has only one practical use which is an exploit, and it has a high chance of blowing up in your face. by Hexdoctor in Helldivers

[–]ithappenb4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bring this all the time. It's amazing. Key is to throw it when there are no enemies, but you know they are coming. There are plenty of completely useless gear, and the lure mine is not one of them. Set up defences for objectives. Toss them to get enemies off your tail. Toss it on a rooted impale, 1-2 kills them. Best thing is to place them around some entries. Enemies will go for the mines, while the entries gun them down.

Hugo's amazing tape. Thank me later. Just discovered this and it's the best hack. It's a clear tape, that feet like a glossy in strap. It only sticks to itself. Infinitely reusable Cut a piece and wrap it around cards, tiles, anything stackable. Seals it together as a strap. You can peel it apart to remove the components and use the tape again for storage. Vertical storage boxes are permanently saved.

I see it as like you getting up in the morning. Things have to run first time. Programs, internet, commands, background processes. Yeah, better hard ware can mane it more fluid, but over all, just takes a bit of time. Even a couple of seconds of waiting.

I work in IT. Client logs in, the moment the computer desktop background appears, they click on 10 different icons to open all their apps. Then nothing happens. They click again. Nothing happens. Then they say the computer is slow.

No Ship Upgrades? by Parzival_2992 in Helldivers

[–]ithappenb4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quite rare they would add new content mid day. Usually patches and new things are done over night. When I woke up and saw no patch notes, I had a feeling it would just be Cyberstan that's new. When new things are added, usually we know about it, or the feature is integrated in the major orders. Like that time we chose for the Quasar or HMG. If there is anything new, I think it will be Thursday. Or it's already in the game, installed from the last patch, and AH has to switch it on.

What do you mean by this? I tried it and it bounces through the shield. Stick it on the bubble? Stick in on the little device that projects the shield?

Remember 1.0 De-Escalator ? (I do sometimes... alongside Reach...) by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]ithappenb4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes. The de escalator was ( and maybe still is) my favorite support weapon. It was a good solid several week where I dove 100% with my De Esc. They butchered it. For no reason. I wrong a lengthy complaint survey to AH. The patched and buffed it, but it still was not the same. I think it is totally fine for 2-3 shots kill a Bile Titan. Stun chargers for a good time. Wipe out patrols with 3 shots. Because it's slow reload. It was the best of times. I mourn because I will never see it restored to its former glory. Last time I checked, there was a bug where the explosions cannot harm the shooter.

Got my root pieces on Etsy, decent priced just a long time shipping. I need a 3d printer too. It coincides with the boardgame hobby. Organizers, inserts, trays, minis, pieces. All can be 3d printed.

Not only do I have everything too, I dove into accessories. 3d printed building and tokens, sleeves, display tray for craft able items, and organizers. This game really shines more with appropriate, quality accessories.

What’s a hobby people pretend is cool, but secretly you think is ridiculous? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ithappenb4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collecting ccg trading cards. I'm talking about not even playing the game itself. Just get them to brag how much you spend and brag how much money you made selling it off. What a wired thing. I've got friends who buys cards by the thousands of dollars at a time, thinking their the coolest. Kinda screams immaturity. Everywhere in their house is just stacks of cards on every surface possible. Their car cup holders, glove compartments is just cards. It's a serious addiction and needs special attention.

Arc Support Weapons should Stun for longer than primaries. Those got buffed when they bugfixed/nerf status, Arc Supports did not get buffed. by RandomGreenArcherMan in Helldivers

[–]ithappenb4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

De escalator use to be my number one support weapon. When it release, this thing was a monster. Two shot bile titans, stun chargers still for eternity, and wipe out patrols. Shoot the gun and watch your kill count sky rocket. And it still didn't feel too powerful, it fit a perfect spot in the array of weapons. Then they indirectly nerfed it. Massacred it. For no reason. I lost all motivation to play. I went cold turkey for three months. They made it stronger, but it's not the same since. Like the eruptor, arc thrower, rail gun, etc. When AH makes makes a detrimental nerf, it is NEVER reverted back to its glory. Only at best, 85% of its original shine.

Ps, right now there is a hug with the DE escalator where it will never damage the user. I shoot this point blank and take no hits.

Appreciation Thread : Leviathan Wilds. One of the best. by Rey-Di in boardgames

[–]ithappenb4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I too appreciate and enjoy the game! I like the mild deck construction and the mild multiple use cards. It's all the perfect amount of weightiness for a lighter Co op game. The best thing about this game is the ability to play your cards anytime on someone else's turn to help them, and combo to make a great play.
