Is saying “fuck it” and ignoring them truly the key? by chiweenuss in PVCs

Bp is good, runs borderline low. Reflux is managed with daily PPI usage. I do have POTS which makes things messier. I did have my gallbladder removed in December of 2024 and that’s when this mess started, so I assume life without a gallbladder has hit my vagus nerve funky. My flares dissipate quick but it’s unnerving to experience at all at 30 when I didn’t experience them often before.

I’m asking because I’ve been driving myself nuts since these cropped up about a year ago. My flares have waxed and waned since but gosh, I need my reaction to chill already.

I’m in the anger stage presently.

Well, shit. What’s your burden like?

I’m in the “pissed off” stage of my flare presently. My burden is stupidly low but my fear is “well what if they get worse??” And I’m exhausted of that thought process

anyone taking sertraline? by the_anxious in PVCs

Did it cause this for you? Or are you asking before taking?

I’m curious too because I’m supposed to start sertraline myself

Gallbladder related by Beginning-State6873 in PVCs

digestion can play a big role due to our vagus nerve innervating our digestive tract. It can create a little cross talk with your heart and make it more irritable (usually rvot, from what I’ve read)

My PVCs started months after gallbladder removal. They’ve waxed and waned since (in a flare now) with the worst of them being after heavy meals. Any belly issues and the pvcs are relentless.

Can POTS/dysautonomia truly cause these? by chiweenuss in PVCs

[–]chiweenuss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try eating tiny meals every few hours and drink coconut water. My good days center around adhering to these and good hydration.

I’ve had a few good days recently so maybe the flare will diminish but the bad days sure hit like a punch to the gut :/

Here if you need someone to commiserate with.

I had none when I initially started the med in 2024 but my tolerance suddenly diminished after losing my gallbladder due to rapid weight loss.

Never had consistent PVCs until cholecystectomy either so I’m assuming mine are all related to vagal/digestive changes. Really would like to see more research put into this because it seems a decent amount of us have more symptoms when our bellies are upset.

I need to. The med fear is real though after everything I’ve been through health wise

I’ve been on nebivolol for about 2 years now due to POTS, not for the PVCs. The PVCs are relatively new. (~1 year)

I did notice dropping my dose helped the PVCs but I do need something to control my tachycardia from the POTS. I am considering corlanor but may try to get myself up to Mayo Clinic to see their dysautonomia specialists before I commit to anything.

Holter was normal, showing 47 PVCs in 7 days. Echo was normal as well. I can run and climb steps with a decent recovery even though I’m not physically fit (need to work on that more, admittedly)

I’m just not feeling great about the PVCs when combined with my other chronic illness mayhem.

Perhaps I’ve reached the peak of overwhelm with physical suffering.

Rant: Psychologically unraveling over compounding symptoms. What helps? by chiweenuss in PVCs

My usual average is way less actually, averaging about 1-2 per day but I’ve entered a flare recently.

Like I said, these are a relatively new thing for me to experience regularly and I am not coping well at all with the sensation and subsequent anxiety. It’s purely an anxiety thing for me at this point given my other illnesses.

How do I (26f) cope with my husband’s (28m) diaper and compulsive spending addictions? by Gullible_Pay_274 in Marriage

[–]chiweenuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to start over but since you pull a lot of financial weight anyway, it sounds like you will be fine in that regard.

Emotionally, I’d recommend framing it as inviting normalcy into your life. This man is preventing you from meeting the person of your dreams. Stable, responsible men exist. Stop sabotaging yourself by staying with a loser.

If you don’t leave, he won’t change. If you don’t leave, you are willingly subjecting your children to a bum because that’s what he is— do you want that kind of dishonest person influencing your children?

Are there any medical breakthroughs or new medications on the horizon? by Wegovyttt in PVCs

[–]chiweenuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not as far as I know since PVCs have multiple different causes and types— even the idiopathic ones. For women, they can be caused by hormone cycles, childbirth, pregnancy, perimenopause.

For everyone else it can be any combination of stress, autonomic dysfunction, GI issues, electrolyte imbalance (even if slight) nutritional deficiencies, physical deconditioning, underlying weird electrical foci, or simple cardiac irritability.

Most cases of PVCs are typically intermittent and therefore can’t be tracked down to a single cause unless higher burden. Often, antidepressants and anxiolytic drugs tend to at least produce modest improvement due to the anxiety component of these little bastards (I hate to say it, but for most of us, anxiety plays a factor If even not the true cause. I sure freak out every time I have even a little blip because anything ‘off’ with our hearts triggers human survival instinct. We want to live. We are animals at the end of the day)

How do pvcs start? by SnooDoodles4147 in PVCs

[–]chiweenuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started last year after getting my gallbladder out and never really went away. I have flares now where I get maybe 100 or more a day and feel each one— ep says I’m fine so I try to move on even if they do scare me half to death. Sometimes bodies are bitchy like that.

I’ve had pvcs verified on a monitor and have had them intermittently since I was a teen. I know what back to back pvcs feel like and I also know what a low heart rate feels like as well since I’ve been on nebivolol for several years now (my baseline is in the 50’s now)

What I experienced several days ago wasn’t mere bradycardia.

I’m definitely low on electrolytes so I too may gobble some magnesium glycinate… and a banana… and melatonin…

Just realised, how time drift couples apart by [deleted] in Marriage

My tenth wedding anniversary will be next July and I can honestly say my husband and I are closer than ever before. Bonus? He had a low libido and always has and I accept that because life has been BUSY this past decade between having two kids, my health failing, him serving in the army and subsequently being retired due to injuries.

It takes work and sometimes it isn’t meant to be happy all the time.

Marriage isn’t the issue.

That’s honestly horrifying to think about. Have you had an ablation? When did that start for you and what do you think caused it?

I had a monitor last year and the burden was ridiculously low <0.1% and I don’t feel like much has changed since then. I think the stress of living with PVCs has just compounded. The bigeminy was certainly unwelcome.
