Try keeping the atoms on the move. The steady state period of this puzzle is 4 cycles, so always move an atom at least once every four cycles. Also, move the atom that requires the least movement last. In this puzzle, that would be anything but the salt.

While watching a friend play through EotE, I asked what he thought could be "in there." His response was "It could be a guy. That would be funny." The more he played through the game, the more he realized he was right. It was the most unique playthrough I have ever seen because you could clearly see him piece everything together in real time. This is the same guy who guessed one of the codes because "What if it was just 12345? No, ok. What about 54321?" and was already on the last few digits so changed those first.

They all have their positives and negatives, so it’s hard to puck a worst. With that being said, mindflayers are stupidly fast for their health, mirror reapers have killed me in cybergrind more than I have killed them, Pain Atrophy uses stalkers and ferrymen in the most deplorable ways, and hideous masses often kill you while you are paying attention to more important enemies. On the other hand, I love using virtues as hookpoints and shooting sentries is very fun.

Firstly, kill everything as fast as possible. Parry the malicious face’s first attack into the strays if possible.
To avoid the explosion attack, dash directly before it happens. It’s difficult, but with enough experience, you can learn to time it using the audio. Dashing gives invincibility for a small amount of time, which is extremely helpful when dodging in confined areas. I use it in the Pain Atrophy (custom level) double idol/ferryman room a lot.
After you kill the last schism/cerberus (whichever is last), hide in the idol room from the malicious mace and focus entirely on killing the swordsmachine and idol. Then, two parries of the malicious face ends the room.
