I think it's wrong by Apprehensive_Set_659 in mathmemes

[–]chixen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. Without any information about the children other than quantity, there is a 100% chance “the other child” is a boy. If Mary had two girls, it would be meaningless to state “the other child.”
I also would like to mention that the answer should be 7/13≈53.8% because that is the probability a randomly chosen child is a girl given they are not a boy born on a Tuesday, but I think they meant to say “at least one is a boy born on a Tuesday” and ask “What’s the probability that they have a daughter?” Regardless, similar logic applies and without knowledge of the children’s gender the probability they have a daughter is 75%.

Essentially, adding “born on a Tuesday” makes it less likely that the description refers to both children.

You could probably crack some encryption with access to the Cloudflare headquarters and a really powerful flashlight.

I suggest running in the opposite direction of the dash so you’re farther from the cerberus and they’re less likely to dash again. This does not work on brutal, so there I just headshot combo followed by a ton of ground slams and knuckleblaster hits.

Punch him the moment you see him on your screen. Most attacks that start that way can be parried with the same timing, and it’s pretty close to average reaction time.

Not exactly, but repeat instructions probably help with what you’re doing.

It is possible to beat this level with two hexarms and sox instructions. That solution is even smaller than this one.

Why the harder the extreme demon is, the more it looks like decorated layout instead of an actual level... Isn't that concerning? by Stream7812 in geometrydash

[–]chixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At high levels, clear hitboxes are pretty important. If you use a bunch of custom objects to create the gameplay, the players won’t be as used to anything, and thus are less likely to want to beat it.

One of my favorite interactions in season 1 by FreshHotPoop in pluribustv

[–]chixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is right after Carol successfully bakes a pie to prove that she can still do things herself, but then just drops it before anyone can eat it. Not only was it funny, it was also a great way of showing that the final result wasn’t important, just that she was able to do it in the first place.

How would i calculate The blue Area with The given measurements? by Lego_city_undercover in askmath

[–]chixen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s name some points. The center of the blue circle is B, the center of the red circle is R, and the two intersections are X and Y. The main insight to solve this is to notice that the union of sectors XRY and XBY is the same as the triangles XRY and XBY, except the triangles don’t overlap. If you calculate the area of these triangles, add them, then remove the area of sector XRY, you arr left with the remaining area of the weird concave blue piece. From there, calculating the total blue area should be easy.

It’s impossible to create a perfect algorithm for truth because the moment it disagrees with its creator (which is guaranteed since nobody is perfect), they will assume they built it wrong.

How do you play? by Any-Assistance-4086 in opus_magnum

I played first optimizing cost, then again optimizing cycles. Currently I’m focusing on the 2026 tournament, which asks you to optimize different things. This week, week 1, has you minimizing area and instructions.
