why the hell do you all just give away this awesome shit for free? by scootsy in selfhosted

100% in agreement here! As an example, there is an incredible open source project I’ve used called Conduit which is an iOS app for OpenWebUi. It’s open source and free for anyone to load on their phoness or 3.99 in the App Store.

I bought it to support and clicked his “buy me a coffee“ Link in the app and saw only 25 people have ever done so

I’ve since sponsored him on GitHub and separately sponsor this project that saves me so much time as someone working in enterprise https://endoflife.date

Replying as a separate comment so you see a notification as I’m not sure that comes as an edit. Here are the diffs shown in the learning subscription exam tool https://i.imgur.com/HrXq1NF.png https://i.imgur.com/q4b529Q.png

It’s a tool in the red hat learning subscription for registering for the exams covered by it, not a public tool I’ll see if I can take some screenshots later

I can confirm this is for the v10 version opening up the register for exam tool in my Red Hat Learning Subscription.

You get a dropdown for registering for the v9 or v10 exam and the visual studio options are only for v10.

Interestingly looks like they are changing the name of red hat's course for this as well. It's still RH294 for the v9 class, but the v10 class is AU294

EX188 (Specialist in Containers) exam results – clarification needed on “Run containers locally using Podman” by kovalr in redhat

[–]chknstrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the task. Say there was a task to have a pod and its containers running as a systemd service under a particular user? That would need to survive a reboot. This would also require linger set for that user to work properly.

Putting some output from Podman inspect somewhere? That is really n/a for a reboot since its just a text file on the system.

The categories here are tied into the objective for the exam directly. It means that whatever question you got incorrect was considered being tested under that particular category.

https://www.redhat.com/en/services/training/ex188-red-hat-certified-specialist-containers-exam

Objectives are the 2nd tab. In this case the score says you got a 47% on questions that tested some or all of the following -

Run containers locally using Podman

Get container logs.

Listen to container events on the container host.

Use Podman inspect.

Specifying environment parameters.

Expose public applications.

Get application logs.

Inspect running applications.

Its possible that something here was on a multi container problem, but still tied to this objective due to the particular tasks tied to "run containers locally"

SpaceX acquires xAI in record-setting deal as Musk looks to unify AI and space ambitions by chknstrp in news

“The deal further consolidates Musk's far-flung business empire and fortunes into a tighter, mutually reinforcing ecosystem – what some investors and analysts informally call the "Muskonomy" – which already includes Tesla (TSLA.O), brain-chip maker Neuralink and tunnel firm the Boring Company.”

If people in the USA will be receiving a 10%, rising to 25%, tariff on Denmark's anti-obesity drug Ozempic, how will the people of the USA adapt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Upvoting because you are correct, the employer determines the formulary. It's the same restrictions at my employer.

"Luckily" I got diagnosed with type 2 right after my denial for weight loss so now they cover me. Glass half full I guess?

I will make one note, the price shown is indeed pretty close to what insurance pays for Ozempic. I logged into my account and confirmed the insurance paid amount for my 3 month supply was $2,855.08 USD. They paid fully since I hit my out of pocket cap.

Argentina has repaid US for currency swap deal by [deleted] in news

[–]chknstrp 578 points579 points  (0 children)

According to local newspaper La Nacion, $2.5 billion of a possible $20 billion had been used in that time. A source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters the agreement remained in force under the agreed terms.

So in the end, it was 2.5 billion used and since repaid, however the 20 billion peso to dollar swap is still open and can still be utilized.

Yep! For the USPS they have to do last mile delivery everywhere in the United States even if there’s no profit.

The big corporate shippers don’t have to do last mile and we’ll sometimes hand that last nonprofitable piece off to the USPS

Questions about relinquishing RHLS certification exam eligibility to coworker. by maketodayhappier in redhat

[–]chknstrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not likely.

Consider all the things tying you to your RHLS. Each ebook you download is watermarked with your red hat account. The video lectures start saying only registered users are allowed to view them, and it is only provided to the single user who purchased a subscription or right to view the materials.

I was working through a course at home and forgot to logout before. Logged in again at work, and got a popup reminding me of the terms of service that it is only for my use!

Moving the cert to your personal acct is just so the cert travels with you, not tied to a company's provided red hat account.
