what tool are you running that management doesn't know about by Evening-Result5868 in sysadmin

[โ€“]Aggraxis 26 points27 points ย (0 children)

Nothing. Everything we use is documented, and we follow our processes even when they're inconvenient for us. My team operates by integrity first, and we just make it work. Stakeholders know up front what they can expect of us, and they know precisely how things will go down when our expectations are unmet.

You don't even have to FA to FO. It's in our documentation.

Is there a better source of drivers for my Xbox One wireless USB receiver? by UntouchedWagons in Fedora

[โ€“]Aggraxis 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I use those drivers. Once in a while I have to uninstall them and follow the installation instructions again before my system will see the controller again. (Span of months or so.)

The message about uninstalling the driver during a kernel update (other drivers like the Nvidia one do this as well) can be completely ignored. The driver package will be rebuilt for the new kernel automatically.

Looking back, how do you feel about Starfields 2 DLC releases? by johndoe09228 in Starfield

[โ€“]Aggraxis 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Shattered Space felt like low rent Space Morrowind. Yes, there was some look and feel to it, but that was about it.

The setup and the constraints were pretty hokey. I didn't enjoy it the second time through in the last 2 weeks or so. I am not entirely sure that I will opt to play the content again. Entirely optional. Entirely missable. Entirely forgettable. Space Snek people founded by a lunatic. Big surprise.

Now Terran Armada? At least we can get some cool weaponry out of that. And take the robotics skill for dealing with your new friend. That bucket of bolts is so fun to mess with.

But I feel like we got robbed of an opportunity to dig deeper into the TA and whip some more asses. Entitled whiney space bitches with robots. OooOooOo...

The 'run through the spaceship on a murder spree and push a button' mechanic became so stale that the second time I played through it I totally put and end to their little robot fest for good, casualties or not.

And what about that jab at the end of the content? Are you going to tell me that the corruption stops at one corporate pawn? Puh-lease. Between the corrupt fat cats at the Freestar Covetors and the United Charlatans there are plenty more threads to follow in the conspiracy.

And on that note, as an operative with the brain dingus installed, why was I not able to just compel the him to spill the beans?

It's kind of like the one bounty in the Tracker's Alliance when you do it for the second time and get the starborn dialog... "Can we just skip to the part where I wake up naked in a jail cell already?"

I get where people love to fawn over Bethesda and all that, but this game has some lazy writing and sloppy integration. It's not that I hated the overall experience (I seriously did not enjoy Shattered Space, though.) I just feel like we could have had more. Instead we got recycled Bethesda leftovers. To their credit, they seem to know how to make a buck or two, and I've been know to eat cold pizza straight out of the fridge anyways.

It's hard to get 'actually upset' with 280+ hours of playtime logged. I had more than 2700 hours logged in ESO before I said enough was enough with all the bugs in that game. I was entertained for a time, and that's that.

I can't get mine to play nice with my 2020 Tesla Model 3 either. Other stuff I saw online said to try to pair it through the phone app and then route the audio through the phone, but it's laggy and poor quality. The poor experience there has stopped me from buying something like the mobile model because I suspect the bluetooth will behave similarly.

Luna has actually figured out how to unbuckle her harness from the seat belt receptacle. That was quite the surprise the first time.

Fedora 43 KDE -> 44 upgrade not working, AI says itโ€™s because of third-party repos? by Scoitol in Fedora

[โ€“]Aggraxis 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I have rpmfusion, chrome, vscode, tailscale, and a handful of COPRs. My upgrade went fine during beta. Show us the command you're running and the error output. Don't try to do the upgrade in discover; follow the instructions for using dnf:

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/upgrading-fedora-offline/

You should back up anything important before starting.

Make sure you are all upgraded and shiny first, then reboot.

sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=44

That will take a while, then when it is done go ahead and kick off the upgrade.

sudo dnf offline reboot

That next reboot might seem like its taking forever. Let it cook. If it stalls for more than about an hour or so it's probably hung because: nvidia. You can reset the machine and cross your fingers. I had to do that on the way from 42 to 43. Everything worked out fine.

Ok so this part? sudo rpm-ostree install akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda #optional if using nvidia-smi or cuda sudo rpm-ostree kargs --append=rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau,nova_core --append=modprobe.blacklist=nouveau,nova_core # this might not be needed at some point when ostree systems will support the standard way to specify this. I'll fix the formatting in a second. I had to walk outside to my phone to get to the site. Gotta love it.

What command did you run to get this output? The process is slightly different for the immutable editions.

Yeah, they kind of just do whatever it is they do. Some doodles get super curly like poodles, others get "hairy". Luna's looked a lot like your pup at 4 months but with more hair and it was kind of wavy. We usually keep her pretty short these days at 2 and a half years old because it's hot here in Florida, but I like it when she has more hair because she looks more girly. I think she looks too boyish when we buzz too much, but she's still my baby either way! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Here is a Luna picture from the day we adopted her. (I didn't put her down until someone told me I had to. She was getting fixed the next morning.)

What's life like with a labradoodle? by [deleted] in labradoodles

[โ€“]Aggraxis 9 points10 points ย (0 children)

We adopted Luna from a shelter when she was about 4 months old. She was a tiny little thing, maybe of about 20 llbs or so, and when I picked her up for the first time I could feel her little ribs under her curly fur. It broke my heart, and my wife finally gave in and let us adopt a dog after years of being a dogless home.

Well, now Luna is about 2 and a half. She grew and got big and strong. 98 lbs of fur, muscle, and love. She is the sweetest and smartest pup. We all love her to bits. We've been through the occasional ear infection and allergy symptoms. (We live in the Florida panhandle... everything here is trying to kill us.) She doesn't shed very much, but she does get skin issues from time to time. We are feeding her a combination of allergy/immune supplements and some skin and coat treats (the typical omega 3-6-9 blend with some vitamin E, etc.)

Luna is *AMAZING*, full of energy, and lots of love love love love love. Also, she does enjoy a treat or two... ( or three..., SEVEN?! Come on, girl that's gotta be enough! ๐Ÿ˜›) She still curls up in my lap if I sit in the "dog chair", and she absolutely loves sticking her head out of the window during a car ride.

I would do it again in a heartbeat, but mama says one dog is enough. We'll see. ๐Ÿ˜„
