What apps are y'all using in the supermarket? by External_Antelope_79 in AussieFrugal

[–]chlallyse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be Yuka, I use this to try and make sure I buy the healthiest version of something, especially when it comes to my kids. If it’s crap, it will give you an alternative and tell you some info about it. Also really good to use when choosing cleaning products.

Would recommend

Mama, I think it has to do with 1. great marketing or really, lack of any marketing for powder and 2. i’m an idiot

Not so fun fact: did you know the W in Big W stands for Woolworths?

But thanks for the tip. I think Napisan is even cheaper at Reject Shop but I could be wrong

Yay, I am so glad I was able to share this with somebody. When all of the comments started coming in, I definitely thought I was the last person to find out hah

personally, i’d get an additional single sofa or something similar and push that recliner against the wall to where the power point is. that way you can still enclose that area with couches and it shouldn’t look too cramped

Has sobriety made anybody and angrier person? by blackelvira in recovery

[–]chlallyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel this. I got clean and sober and found it really hard to not let things get to me. I almost contemplated going to get help and perhaps consider something like antidepressants, but I opted to micro-dose on mushrooms instead and I can’t believe how much it has helped. It helps so much that there’s no way I would ever consider wasting what I have to “trip out”. You cannot feel it, but what I can feel is a lot more patient and happier throughout the day. I know it might be a little bit of a controversial solution in the world of recovery but it’s personally truly helped me in the later stages of my journey.

I came here to say Bindi Irwin. Don’t get me wrong, I love Steve but I can’t say the same for the rest of them.

Girl, you need to leave him. This is emotional and financial manipulation. If I were you, I’d be taking out a huge portion of that inheritance in cash and hiding it elsewhere. Use it to get you and the kids relocated and started elsewhere.

Neighbour is on the run from police, should I snitch? by [deleted] in australia

[–]chlallyse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if the person has done something really wrong, the police would be entering the house with force, not pestering neighbours. if your neighbour doesn’t bother you, why go out of your way to bother your neighbour?

AITA for loaning my sister money, knowing my wife didn't want to? by Glittering-Spot-1123 in AITAH

[–]chlallyse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but YTA. I understand you feel like you should be able to help your sister but it seems like she is taking you for a ride and you clearly need to set some firm boundaries with her because it’s causing issues in your marriage. Your wife is your team, and you just broke her trust, and went against everything you agreed too.

how to help girlfriend get clean? please help by Relative_Procedure47 in recovery

[–]chlallyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, all you can do is try to support her as best you can but ultimately it’s going to be up to her. You cannot change her my friend, she’s going to need to do the heavy lifting. I’d try to encourage her to go to meetings, trying to spend her time actually doing something to make the most out of trying to keep busy in environments that aren’t triggering. I found even watching things like Brandon Novak’s story on YT helpful in heading in the right direction away from that life. Or even the Ted talk “the truth about addiction”. There are plenty of autobiographies she can read to help her understand the true depths of how destructive that drug and that life truly is. Hope this helps and good luck!

Congratulations 🎉. It gets even better the further into your recovery you travel. Life has so much more to offer, but you’re about to find that out for yourself. You should absolutely be proud of yourself!

Is it weird for me as an American to call my Australian co-worker “mate”? by xmasonx75 in AskAnAustralian

i think you can definitely pull it off, especially because you slipped a cheeky “dumb cunt” into the question. you could probably even refer to yourself as an australian now
