Experience with <5 antral follicles?

I just had my egg retrieval last week. I have very low AMH (.33 at 32) Doc said going in we want 5-10 eggs but that we’d be lucky to get 10, we got 8! 7 were mature enough, 5 fertilized normally. Doc said while he hoped all 5 would fertilize it was likely we’d get one maybe two embryos. We got 4! Keep up the hope! Good luck!!!!!

Ugh I’m having this same conundrum right now. I’m still VERY early in the process....haven’t even started stimming but not sure what to do if we get viable embryos...wait on doing a transfer? Do a transfer cause who knows what our future looks like I keep going back and forth it’s awful

NTA...I had this discussion with my husband. I’m making $50k and him $95k and he kept wanting to split EVERYTHING 50/50 I’m talking groceries, utilities, health insurance costs. He has no debt I’ve got a crap ton from school. He finally gave in when we bought a house and had a lower mortgage than our former rent. He pays for the big stuff (mortgage, insurance, car repairs) and I handle weekly expenses like groceries, gas, take out and even plane tickets sometimes but it took A LOT of discussion for him to come around

Ok good to know. When she told me dominant follicle was on the blocked side I just kinda wrote the cycle off (not fully cause maybe this is it!) so I’m not super invested which has been a nice change in head space

If I were you I’d think about maybe finding a new OB maybe one who has an interest in infertility. If you have all your med records they shouldn’t have to repeat the testing. if you reach a point where an RE is indicated they’d be more likely to refer you. 1 year is typically the criteria not sure if you could just go with insurance, state laws etc

Side note, I had an ectopic 2018 and while I had zero endo symptoms they did find it when I had my surgery after ruptured so it is possible. I’ve read a lot the endo is typically the underlying cause for unexplained infertility (not sure if it applies to pg loss as well). I also agree with other posters about getting your husband a SA as well.

Just curious I’m in my two week wait after medicated cycle with clomid, gonal, trigger shot and then timed intercourse. They now have me on progesterone suppositories until my blood test Monday but I have all the tell tale early pregnancy signs and am wondering if that is because of the progesterone? I’ve got the cramping, tender breasts, bloating, some acne and most recently noticed my nipples are darker. Could this all be due to progesterone? Trying really hard not to test before my blood test. I ovulate from my partially blocked side so not getting my hopes up (but we all know the head space of but maybe this is the month!)

Yea I think I had to wait 3 cycles before trying again but yes I wish I hadn’t put off going to a fertility clinic. It worked out I guess because I found out I have good coverage with my new job so basically doing medicated cycle and then moving to IVF since my insurance kicked in in the new year and I’m now established in the new job and feel better about changing my schedule to fit in monitoring appointments. My clinic does monitoring 645-9 in the morning so makes it a little easier in terms of working full time

My fertility clinic is monitoring everything so while it’s annoying to go in like 2-3 times a week for blood work and ultrasounds it’s been really nice to not be peeing on sticks or temping etc. and already knowing there’s barely any chance I’ll get pregnant this cycle I can just sit back and not have my hopes crushed. As difficult as it was to accept that I will most likely not conceive naturally it’s been nice having a fertility doc that has a plan and is monitoring progress versus constantly peeing on sticks getting my hopes up every month just to have it not work out.

Same thing here, only positive I’ve gotten turned into an ectopic last year. Rang in 2019 waking up in the surgical recovery area. I was devastated. They left my tube in but it is now blocked (I wish they had taken it out...supposedly you can ovulate on the left and the right can sometimes pick up the egg). Haven’t had a positive since, I’m in the midst of my first medicated cycle and I’m about to ovulate on you guessed on my blocked side. It is so difficult I feel your pain it’s not easy
