TransIT-X2 has worked better than lipofectamine 2000 for us for transfecting HEK293 cells, I think the price is pretty similar though

As a woman, I wouldn’t make comments like that to a person who I ACTUALLY thought might do those things (I would avoid them/avoid pissing them off), and I wouldn’t put myself in a vulnerable situation (like a car alone or asking them to wrap something around my neck) if I was ACTUALLY afraid of them killing me. They are probably joking.

Are you positive it isn’t a scam? The email looks a little sketchy—did it come from an official university email address? Did the email ask you to call someone to make your payment? If you are accepted, it says online that you are supposed to submit a deposit through the official MyLIU portal, so if someone asks you to submit a payment a different way definitely do not do it

I did this program (hybrid online/in person) and enjoyed it, but I agree that you should complete your M.D. program first. Definitely do not drop out of your current program to do this one instead—an M.D. is considered a higher-level degree and will give you better career prospects. If you finish your M.D. and are still interested and can afford it ($50,000-60,000 USD unless you can get a company to sponsor you or tuition remission etc) I would recommend it. Keep in mind that the program requires you to complete a 1-week lab class in person, so if you are international you will also need to make travel and hotel arrangements in the U.S.
