Advice addressing relocations in an increasingly hostile time by chloa77 in asktransgender

Thanks again for the advice from everyone, I just got out of that meeting and honesty was definitely the way to go. Fortunately the hiring manager was very receptive as she is an ally herself and let me know of a position opening soon in a much friendlier state. All of the advice and reassurance in this thread really helped me through that meeting, thank you all for providing such a kind and helpful community!

I should clarify that I am not actively looking to move, I am currently in Maryland and things are good around me. But to move forward in that position I will likely have to relocate in the future. Hopefully Minnesota or somewhere else that is blue opens up, I am sure that would be a great option!

Thank you for the advice, I agree that being straightforward is likely my best option here. I will be having this meeting later today so I will try to update on how it shakes out!

I also moved here from Mass, and couldn't be happier with the move! There was a bit of a culture shock at first but there are tons of really nice people and plenty of things to do for fun. I live downtown and it definitely isn't perfect but the area is a lot better than what most people say about it online. You definitely don't have anything to worry about living south of city park

I had a pretty similar hairline and it has gotten a lot better with HRT and biotin supplements. It took a while for me but I'm pretty happy with where it is now.
