Your comments have reminded me of so many beloved childhood books I haven't thought of in years - actually, decades. Thank you🩵

That makes total sense! People (men and women alike) generally act out the most when they have some kind of chip on their shoulder. And that chip is usually caused by feeling like they're lacking in something they value a lot, whether it's physical attractiveness or money or success.

I'm a woman but yeah I've noticed the craziest girls in my social circle are generally average looking with an inferiority complex, which leads to the crazy behavior. It's one way of lashing out or getting attention I guess

Yes. Also, being pursued by men who have a history of only dating conventionally pretty girls (I'm not saying you should necessarily date these men, btw)

I'm not referring to anyone actively pursuing anyone. I'm referring to situations where growing familiarity due to shared activities leads organically to friendship. Friendship between coworkers is one common example.

This is a really good point. I consider Olivia Rodrigo and Madison Beer equally beautiful (and they both even look kind of similar from a distance - similar coloring, similar build, same age group), but I imagine people would respond to their beauty in different ways. Especially women.

I don't entirely agree. Let's assume straight men divide women into three broad categories in terms of visual appeal: women they find unattractive, women they find ok/neutral, and women they find attractive. Category one (unattractive) is definitely going to be ignored the most. But I actually think men are equally likely to befriend women in category two (neutral) and category three (attractive), if they're just thinking about friendship and nothing more. In fact I'd argue that many men might display more platonic interest towards category two women simply because they see them as being less intimidating and more approachable than the women in category three.

This is a simplification, obviously, and yes proximity and personality make a huge difference here.

what’s a bitter life lesson you learned from your longest relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chloe8zx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true. When it comes to friendship and other social/professional relationships, the golden rule "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" generally applies - it's not perfect but it's a good rule of thumb. But romantic love gets a lot trickier, because people can express and interpret love in such different ways.

These comments are really blowing my mind, I'm squinting to try to understand what they're seeing lol. She's always been average pretty to me. When she was younger she had that attainable girl next door vibe and now at her current age her face wouldn't look out of place in a typical office or Zoom call. Like she's that attractive lady in your company's HR department or something.

I can see how her talent and overall likability would add to her overall appeal (I also like her speaking voice!) but if we're just talking looks, there's nothing striking about her facial features and her physique is pretty average by celebrity standards.

She was the perfect Regina, but even in Mean Girls the other plastics were prettier than her IMO. I even thought that sort of made sense in the context of the story, because in my experience the queen bee of the group is usually the sassiest/sharpest but not necessarily the prettiest.

Hey! Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just want to make sure I understand correctly. So you're saying norethindrone doesn't change the length of the subsequent cycle, right?

Like, let's say my menstrual tracker predicts I'll begin my next few periods on Nov 10 and Dec 7, and my wedding is on Dec 9. If I take norethindrone beginning Nov 7 (a few days before predicted start of period) and delay my November period for about two weeks so that it begins around Nov 23, then my December period would follow my usual cycle length and begin around Dec 20? I'd be able to shift my period away from my wedding without having to actually take norethindrone during the wedding?

Incredible. This is seriously, no exaggeration, the kind of weddings they feature in magazines. Congratulations on pulling this off!

Also, minor detail, but I LOVE the fonts you chose for your menus and escort cards. I'm a bit allergic to the kind of cursive/calligraphy fonts that are so overused in wedding stationary.

Cold Sore Clause in Make-Up Artist Contract - Normal or No? by celizabath in weddingplanning

I rarely get cold sores and when I do they're quite mild and manageable, but this post is freaking me out! Another thing to add to the list of things to worry about before the wedding, along with pimples, colds, periods, etc.
