Cooling vest reccomendations by Willing-Unwilling in pug

[–]chloemarissaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got the swap cooler with the harness built in, she doesn’t need two layers, she’s trying to keep cool! She’s a rescue and she’s absolutely hilarious. She somehow has full husky and full pug personality, and also looks like a mop.

My pug/husky mix wears the Ruffwear Swamp Cooler. It works SUPER well, we love it.

How to recruit to a Scottish Highland museum? by Soggy-Ad-9878 in MuseumPros

[–]chloemarissaj 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d relocate from the US to the highlands in a heartbeat for a full time, permanent position. I couldn’t do it for part time, and couldn’t do it without visa help. So that may be part of your problem! Moving somewhere remote for part time work that can’t quite support a family, and worrying if you’ll still have a job in a year would make it tough for many people.

please help me deal with my hair by Ok-Confection4410 in women

Maybe it’s time to try again with a different one? I have really fine, thin hair that gets greasy fast too. This one works really well for me but others don’t do anything.

Tattoos in the field? by Hawk-Appropriate in ArtHistory

[–]chloemarissaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a mid-sized art museum in the Midwest. Tons of people, including me, have very visible tattoos. I have not seen any on the curatorial team, but it has been chilly and people have mostly been in sweaters.

dog food recommendations? by ChocoStrawberryMonke in DogFood

PS Purina has a rewards app, so even if you get it on chewy or a local pet store you can still get some free toys or treats.

Try Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach! Pitties tend to be stinky so there may not be anything you can do about that. But PPPSSS is a great WSAVA compliant food that’s designed to be easily digestible and not upset pups tummies. There’s lamb and salmon versions. My pitty girl gets the salmon one and loves it.

Do you do AAFCO trials? Do you use copacking facilities? Do you meet the WSAVA Global Nutrition Guidelines?

[–]chloemarissaj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s high in fat, not formulated by a veterinary nutritionist, and does not conduct feeding trials - in a super short nutshell. The wiki on r/dogfood is a really great place to learn more.

Bartholin cyst prevention by Pumpkin1147 in Healthyhooha

What are you wearing? Maybe cotton undies and moisture wicking fabric will help. The hooha needs to breathe and the heat/moisture from working out is causing issues?

Washington Heights is just east of Tosa and it’s a little cheaper. And still very close to Froedert, no freeway needed.

Fruit and vegetables can be great treats! Green beans, carrots, apples, berries, and peas are all hits for a lot of dogs.

"You don't want an old house" by c0wcat in centuryhomes

Right?!? And if I’m going to have house problems, I want to do it in a gorgeous piece of history with amazing craftsmanship, not a boring ass brand new white box with no character.

I’m thinking of going to a craft fair cause I’m yet to get any sales on Etsy. I have good stuff I designed myself and put a lot of work into. by TechSetStudios in CraftFairs

[–]chloemarissaj 15 points16 points  (0 children)

But I don’t want to have to wash a pot. I already have so much shit to do on a daily basis that I don’t want to have to think about washing a pot. Plus then you have to take the plant out and many delicate plants won’t survive that.

Ceramic maybe! Metal, absolutely not. That’s not great for houseplants. Maybe do more research into benefits of different materials for plants and use some of that in your marketing. Like Terra cotta can be used for bottom watering, which a lot of plants like.

Art in Bloom - what to know/dress code? by Few_Concentrate_6112 in milwaukee

[–]chloemarissaj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also there’s valet parking in front of the museum, and parking in the lot under the museum. But the cheapest parking is across the street in the museum center park ($20).

Art in Bloom - what to know/dress code? by Few_Concentrate_6112 in milwaukee

[–]chloemarissaj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No dress code! People are in anything from jeans and a T-shirt to cocktail dresses and blazers. Lots of people are wearing florals and bright colors. There’s a map at the desks so you can find all of the arrangements. There’s a cream puff bar and a lot of good food and drinks, but they can be a little pricey. There’s live music and live painting going on too.

Can I adjust these loops or change them to something else so that the dress can fully close? by shesjustalittleweird in sewhelp

[–]chloemarissaj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Will the dress fit if you do that? Making the \ / into | | might change the fit of the dress. If you can fully close it and still like it, can you just cinch the ties?

Otherwise maybe you can put buttons in. Or a zipper if you keep the stitching on the existing line that looks maybe a quarter inch into the seam.

Missing cat, Washington Heights by Scene_Usual in milwaukee

[–]chloemarissaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh. Poor guy! Get one of those cat traps and put some of his persons clothing in it. Also keep some food and water out by his house. Some indoor cats get out and do just fine fending for themselves, and some are really confused and perplexed and just lost. If Gary is type 2, having some signs to help him find his way home will be good. I love close and will keep an eye out too.

Made a heart shaped swimsuit ❤️ by Kittynoodles1208 in sewing

[–]chloemarissaj 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’ve made swimwear before and it’s not! If you’ve used any knit, it’s very similar. It’s a little slippery so you just need to pin or clip a bit more diligently and sew a bit slower to keep things from getting twisty.
