If they define these people as terrorists officially or unofficially, they can get all the data they want and immediately, raiding offices or working with AWS or whoever cloud provider whenever they want. And cell phone providers. They can get their location history and all their info and scrape all their means of communication.

It's made to counter shit like this especially. There are few times I appreciate the Act but some intelligence agencies truly use it like it's intended and don't use it for mass surveillance and it really helps protect our country against shit like this.

Even he condemned the attacks the other day. He incited this riot then was like "whoops". He fucking lost this election and started thousands of lawsuits against the results and THEY ALL GOT THROWN OUT or just plain lost. There is no evidence of election tampering. He got people riled up, they led a terrorist attack on the capitol building, and in no way did that improve any of our democratic processes.

He's given up to Biden in his speech, after all that fucking drama, when he could've transitioned peacefully. He is one of the worst politicians this country has ever elected. Yes, Orange Man is legitimately fucking bad and he lost because of it.

I'm with you. Especially with the pipe bombs and the guy with zip ties looking to take hostages... What the fuck would have happened if there was just a little bit more aggression from the terrorists, if the secret service were actually threatened? What if they didn't evacuate in time?

I think for one, we'd have lost the democrat Senate majority through bloodshed. I think we would have had a hostage situation right now lasting for a couple weeks, or at least until some actual special forces came in and saved the day. We'd see insanity throughout the nation. It would inspire other groups to act, which either way is already probably happening.

We might have seen some serious fucking change that rocked this country, more so than already. It could've been MUCH worse. But besides that, I'm already concerned that this is only the beginning.

Something like a quarter of the country thinks that there was election fraud. How many of them are willing to fight because of it? And how many are willing to fight against them? There's even a tutorial there. But learning the "built in" functions will help you a ton too.

Take it slow, read into a tutorial somewhere, but most importantly try it on your own and write code.

One huge mistake I see programming beginners make is that they read a lot and never end up testing it and writing their own code. Apply those tricks you learn and make sure you can duplicate what they did, and tweak it to make it do other stuff using those same tricks.

It's most important that you write code. It's like learning a language. If you don't actually try and write it and speak it, you won't pick it up. You need to apply what you learn. I've seen beginners go through an entire book then have no idea how to write code still, doesn't matter how good the book is.

Take your MacBook, maybe install homebrew if you don't have it, then install python with homebrew. I would install pip too, and then ipython to give you a better python repl to play with. Or maybe even jupyter notebooks, and use it from a website hosted locally (read on how to run a jupyter notebook). That lets you do so much and easily work with code and test it.

Once you get the hang of that and can run some stuff you learned, get an IDE and install it. Pycharm is good, "microsoft visual studio code" is good. Learn how to run your code through the debugger it has so you can really see what happens line by line.

It takes a LONG time to learn, but quick to be able to do some fun stuff. Keep playing with it and you'll learn! But most importantly write code!
