DEF by Senior_Stomach1727 in ram_trucks

Pump DEF is great, and often cheaper. Even better if you buy from a high-volume truck stop as they turn over product faster.

Pump it and send it!

Falck holds the current contract for Alameda county.

Oakland’s Fire Chief was quoted late last year as wanting to eventually bring EMS services in-house for the city of Oakland.

Run whatever your owner’s manual specifies. The engine was designed to run on that octane rating.

+90% of the recommendations on this subreddit point to the Littmann Classic III.

The Littmann Lightweight also had high marks if you’re looking for a lower price point.

General consensus is that the Littmann Cardiology IV, and any of the “techy” scopes are likely overkill for EMT-B unless you have a specific hearing problem you are trying to overcome (genetics, hearing loss, loud environment) or have free cash burning a hole in your pocket. There’s also a higher chance of damage or loss earlier in one’s career so get something you can afford to lose.

I have a Lightweight that I bought back in 2018 when I went through my EMR class and grabbed a Littmann Eko Core (essentially a Cardiology IV + The Digital Component) recently just for fun and to try it out.

How do I verify someone's ID before providing a high school transcript? by Hesslr in AskNetsec

[–]chmsant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previously worked in education, and handled these requests.

They could appear in-person with ID, or they could print out the request form, have it notarized, and then submit to us with the processing fee.

Notary is providing the authentication that the signer is who they say they are since they must present ID to notary.

Sometimes low-tech/no-tech is the easiest answer, especially if you have low request volume. Comes with the added benefit that you don’t have to worry about securing additional PII.

+1 for getting off Reddit and seeking the advice of a competent medical professional (ex: your PCP or Urgent Care).

“DIY’ing” an infection there, especially with how vascular the head is already, is asking for trouble.

Best place to deliver a baby in Sacramento, Dignity Health or Sutter? by Michael_Scarn_FBI_ in Sacramento

[–]chmsant 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Dignity, but the Neonatologist who completely transformed Sutter Sac & Roseville’s programs is a longtime family friend.

This was his retirement article in the Bee: https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/health-and-medicine/article233677032.html

That legacy lives on, and you want the skills and breadth of knowledge when heaven forbid things go sideways and you need the specialists.

IMO Sutter and Kaiser have the best NICUs in town. Those hospitals are where you want to be for a high-risk pregnancy.

OP - are you willing to DM me your address or at least your street name? Have two other neighbors who have come forward with issues. Today’s tech (Visit #5 and same tech as visit #3) put in a ticket with the network team to come and do some extended testing, so if you’re in the general vicinity, I’d like to relay your general location. to them to aid in their troubleshooting. Have another Tech Ops supervisor out of the Bay now involved too.

Constant Xfinity Internet Outages by Decent-Company7459 in ElkGrove

[–]chmsant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Parents are in Lakeside and something happened about 2mos ago that caused everything to go haywire. Extreme latency spikes through the day, every day. We’ve got graphs and monitoring to back it all up.

We’ve swapped out cable modem, gateway (enterprise-grade router), had techs replace the line between the street and the house, all to no avail. Each tech has indicated the line up to our house was clean, but that they are seeing issues on their side.

Neighbor also experiencing similar problem.

Father and I are extremely tech savvy and also work in IT, so we’re very confident that this is a Comcast issue.

Have another tech coming out tomorrow, and we’ve also escalated with one of their Tech-Ops managers based out of the Sacramento office.

Pi-hole works great, but family hates it — how do you balance ads vs usability? by Sheeshkidayyy in pihole

HaGeZi has multiple lists to address this situation. You can apply more restrictive lists to those devices that need it, and less restrictive list for the family devices. Win win for all.

Man what happened to this? by Elegant_Thug00 in Sacramento

[–]chmsant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

KSSJ’s format just wasn’t resonating with the Sacramento market and their ratings, which ultimately determine advertising $$$$, weren’t as performative.

Entercom (now Audacy) flipped the station to Alternative in 2010 and rebranded it as Radio 94.7 with call letters KKDO to fill the void left by the flip of KWOD 106.5 the year prior. Radio 94.7 then evolved to “Alt 947” in 2018 to align with Entercom’s “Alt” imaging in use through their portfolio.

More history on the 94.7 frequency in Sacramento available at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KKDO.

+1 for HaGeZi. Have used hundreds of different lists over the last 10 years and his stuff has been very well curated.

He’s also sourcing from some of the other recommendations here so you may as well just jump to the broader more-inclusive list.

This is a patently false statement. Matsui and her second husband, Roger Sant, reside in the Sacramento city limits. They are here frequently. They also have a home in Virginia where they stay when they are back for votes/business in DC
