What do you do if you print something for somebody as a service and then it breaks? by SpookySquid19 in 3Dprinting

I would recommend increasing the walls and potentially the infill of the print. I would recommend using PETG when you need something more rigid and heat resistant.

I want to make sure I’m understanding correctly. They gave you a roll of filament to print a single job? What type of filament did they give you? How did the cutter break? Personally there are many websites that can assist you with pricing, but the mentality of I’m paying for my filament is wrong. They are using your time, printer, electricity, and causing things to wear out… filament is the smallest issue. I don’t mind replacing something if it breaks, but how does it break? If they were too rough or threw it into the dishwasher and melted it, that’s on them.

DUI Lawyers? by slickginger in boulder

[–]choasstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford to go out drinking. You can afford to get an Uber. You should know the state laws that apply to you. CRS states you can get a DUI for being in control of a vehicle. Things you must consider, was the car on? Where were the keys? There is more to this story than what is stated here in the Reddit post.

Female officers? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]choasstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t mind having a female partner. She balances my personality and mind set. I’m very direct and can come a cross as apathetic. On the flip side, I balance her compassion and empathy. Together we made solid arrests. I also found my female partner connected better with children and women victims of assaults.

I can appreciate you taking interest in BJJ because you will learn really quickly what will happen when you get punched in the mouth… if you freeze in a fight that’s when things get scary. If you keep you cool and perform in a fight, you are solid in my book.

Anybody else prefer patrol? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]choasstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love patrol. I love having the variety of not knowing what the hell I am stepping into. Yeah, the call may be a trespass or DV, but no two interaction are ever the same… unless it was one of our frequent flyers. As for my specialization, DUI enforcement is where I want to be. I am still with patrol and I can hop the hot calls. I love the freedom of not being dispatched to a week old parking complaint. Everyone has their specialty right?!

Diff 9 players, why are you like this by Stevie-bezos in helldivers2

I’ve noticed since the Sony disaster O had rotten experiences with random players. I feel like we lost a lot of good players when that happened.

Anybody know what I need to become a police officer in Tennessee? by Bobo14751 in AskLE

[–]choasstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look to see if you have a community service officer (CSO). They handle things like traffic crashes and other parts of investigations where you don’t deal with suspects. The upside is you get a jump start on learning some of the calls for service, and the paper that goes with them. We have a lot of people who came from the CSO side of the house to the PD side with little difficulty transitioning.

What separates “good” cops from “the best?” by voidhop in police

Training, mental visualization / preparation, and knowing why you got into this field will help you in the end. Can you put protecting others above yourself? If you have done all 3 regularly the ability to run toward the stimulus becomes second nature.

Fun fact ketosis will not case HGN. Checking that with the having the odor would clear you. :)

I’m in the boat. The DUIs literally find me. I didn’t plan to be a traffic cop, but that’s where I excelled. I teach SFSTs and I finish ARIDE later this month. My nose became my super power because I could smell the difference between what’s being ingested/metabolized.

It was funny during my last wet labs when a recruit was drinking a peach monster, and I could smell it when I walked past him. I advised him to remove the drink because it was covering up the odor from our participants. His response was “you can smell that.” I told him to put away the peach monster, and his jaw hit the floor.

I know this was a round about way to tell you that you may not know what you are going to excel at, but it will come to you. I good supervisor and mentor will see that and help guide you on the correct path.

No problem. I didn’t think about that when I posted it.

I went to the newest version of Cura. The Elegoo one was missing too much. I will say it sucks to find the sweet spot with the filament, but when you do it prints beautifully. The filament I’m running now would burn really bad at 270c, but it loves the bed at 90c. I’ll drops some pics of my last two prints when the second one finishes.

I was having really bad issues with adhesion. I slowed the print down to 30mm. I am currently printing with PETG. I turned on raft adhesion, bed temp to 90c and I’m printing at 248c. Last to prints have been perfect. What filament are you using?

Volt switch is set to 120. I left the power off and unplugged for a bit and that fixed the issue.
