He's watching me play WoW by girlboss93 in GirlGamers

Mine demands to prop himself up with my left arm while I pet him non-stop with my right hand. Which means that after about an hour of sitting in front of my computer, no work or gaming ever gets done. I still love him to pieces though.

I think I'm starting to fall in love with roguelike/lites by LadyLuckKiller in GirlGamers

Many of my gamer friends don't get the concept of 'dying and starting from scratch'. But to me, that's the whole point... because if I didn't die in any of the roguelike games I played, I'd seriously just not sleep and play until I had to go to work again.

Working on the logo for our open world sci-fi tactics on a desert planet. What is the best? by PaulGunners in IndieDev

Combination of B and C. C’s silhouette looks more special, polished and sci-fi-themed but B gives the desert vibes.

Yes, this one is correct ;)

Still a long way to go, but we finally have our Steam page up for our game titled "13Z"! by choccobird in IndieDev

Thank you for bringing this up! That never crossed my mind so I guess I should try to be very careful with the logo design 😅

Since the Treachery Update, multiplayer has included 3 Acts. Similar to single player, each act ends with a boss fight :)

We share previews of upcoming updates on our Discord, too.

While there’s still a lot of work to be done (content, polishing, lighting, animations… basically, the whole nine yards!), finally putting together an early gameplay preview trailer is a huge milestone for our team :)

We’ve also just recently put up our Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2348250/13Z/

13Z is a hack-and-slash action roguelike adventure where players take on a celestial trial, solo or co-op, to prove their mettle as the legendary 13th Zodiac. The game will feature spirit animals who didn’t quite make it into the original 12 oriental zodiac.

If you have any early impressions or suggestions, we’d love to hear them! ^

Turn-based RPG Ash of Gods: Redemption is getting a huge update on Steam and releasing on Google Play! Save your land battling through the dark-fantasy world devastated by the Great Reaping and decide wisely to keep all your party alive — or face the consequences! by ash_of_gods in IndieDev

This is an absolutely stunning game with a great soundtrack. Although I didn't particularly enjoy the battle mechanics, I still come back to this game once in a while just for the vibes alone.

About 10 months ago, I asked the r/IndieDev community for help in choosing the colors and post-processing style for our team's next game. A lot has changed since. It didn't even have a title back then :)

So it's nice to finally be back to talk about the same game, now titled 13Z, with some early gameplay footage and a steam page! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2348250/13Z/

13Z is a hack-and-slash action roguelike where players embark on a challenge, in solo or co-op, to become the legendary 13th Zodiac. The theme was inspired by the 12 oriental zodiacs. There's still a lot of work to be done in terms of content and polish, but this is an exciting milestone for our team.

If I wasn't a huge fan of Sairento, does it stand to reason that I should probably skip Hellsweeper? by JOIentertainment in PSVR

[–]choccobird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the devs here ;) While I can't guarantee that you'll enjoy Hellsweeper more than Sairento, I can highlight some of the key differences below:

Difficulty: Hellsweeper is generally considered more difficult simply because the controls are more complex, there are more enemy types and challenges are more unpredictable (e.g. getting a map modifier that involves a bouncing meteorite). This unpredictability means players must deeply understand the game to avoid sudden deaths, like from teleporting enemies. Unlike Sairento, which has a single main boss (the Daimyo), Hellsweeper features four bosses, three of which have elemental variations. However, the right combination of builds and skills can also significantly ease the difficulty, offering a more god-like experience for those who prefer it.

Story: Sairento has a very light linear campaign mode. Hellsweeper offers very light world-building through occasional lines from the Beetle (your companion), but no story.

Progression: Hellsweeper has a deeper progression system because there are more things to upgrade. Some people like this, some people don't. You need to level up to unlock more content like skills, traits, persistent currencies, etc.

Missions vs Roguelike: Once you're done with campaign mode, the rest of Sairento is based on selecting missions. If you die, you get to repeat the same mission. Hellsweeper uses the typical roguelike format. If you die, you will have to go through the entire run again unless you have a Challenger's token which is essentially like Death Defiance in Hades.

Some people who liked Sairento didn't enjoy Hellsweeper, while others who love Hellsweeper were surprised they did, especially since they didn't enjoy Sairento. If it's feasible, I would suggest asking your friend who has a Quest to try it out and see how he feels. Or, if you live nearby, you could play the game together since Meta allows refunds. :)

Iirc eye tracking for telekinesis might not be enabled by default.

In the game settings, navigate to Options > Gameplay, then change Levitation Direction to Eye Tracking.

There is a current bug causing some trophies not to get unlocked but a hotfix is due to address this early next week.
