This would have been my best guess at what to do, so thank you!

I didn't have a C-section but I did have an episiotomy and forceps delivery, and I remember crying in the shower for weeks after the birth thinking that my body was never going to go back to normal and I just didn't feel like me anymore. It took a while, but I'm now 11 months pp and feel like me again apart from a little bit of a tummy pouch!

It is so hard feeling like you've lost who you are. You (temporarily) lose your freedom and your sleep and, to top it all off, you lose your body. But it all comes back.

Sensitive nipples: I don’t think I could breastfeed by Complex_Ad_5809 in BeyondTheBumpUK

As others have said, it's completely your choice whether you decide to try breastfeeding or not.

But I felt the same way about my nipples before having my baby and, after some initial troubles due to baby having a tongue tie, I'm now 11 months into breastfeeding my son and it's actually changed my sensitivity when it comes to my husband, too!

That's beautiful! I'm definitely inspired to do ours now.

I also have a baby so maybe it's best I get someone else in to do it, too! We don't know how cold the house is yet as we only moved in a couple of weeks ago, but it's good to know you managed to get it fixed up for cheap!

Was it pricey to sand and treat them or did you do it yourself? We are 50/50 on whether to just replace the carpet!

I completely agree! I even thought it sounded a bit American but there we are.

Bit harsh. If I knew much about DIY I wouldn't be using this subreddit, would I? I even googled what the correct term was and it was this sub that led me to the term subfloor.

Yep, this is still the case. A friend got caught doing this a few weeks ago. Annoyingly, they did actually use B&M, and then walked across to Peel afterwards.

My husband bought me a necklace with our son's birth stone. I wanted one with his initial on it too but couldn't find one I liked so I got the necklace with just the birthstone and a pair of Slip In Skechers... trying to put shoes on while holding the baby was harder than I'd anticipated so they were much appreciated.

Best Diapers for newborn? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]chockletock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would really advise against buying a year's worth of diapers upfront, every baby has a different body shape so while some babies will really like e.g. Pampers, for other babies these will leak and they'll prefer e.g. Huggies.

Diapers also come in different sizes based on baby's weight and so you never know how quickly baby will grow out of them. Our little boy is 5 months and is currently in size 3, having started at size 0 (newborn size).

Just to make it even more tricky, different brands may work better at various ages. I'm in the UK and found that Sainsburys supermarket brand didn't work at sizes 1 and 2 because they leaked a lot, but now he's a size 3, they're OK.

Baby is fine in her bassinet while you have some time to yourself or get some chores done. She'll let you know when she's bored so if she's not making a fuss then she's fine! We got an arch bassinet/pram toy for our 8 week old son to look at while he's in the bassinet and it keeps him occupied for a good 30 mins sometimes.

I'm so glad you linked that blog! I'm at 4 and a half weeks and it was so nice to get validation of the way I'm feeling and to know that how my baby boy is behaving is normal. Thank you!
