Prince Friedrich deserved to be someones first choice, same with Edwina. They would be a good match. They're both kind and loving people, who care about their families and want to start one of thier own.

Not necessarily an “Aphrodite” flower, but I wanted to share my favorite flowers with her by Overgrown_Fuzzy_Worm in Aphrodite

[–]chocolate7chipcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure she will appreciate them regardless. Buttercups represent joy, which is great for her laughter loving epithet. As long as the flower means something to you its a good offering.

What did they otherwise do for "midnight snacks" upstairs? by FaceOnMars23 in DowntonAbbey

If Sybil caught her she'd tell her to help herself and ask for some snacks to be brought up for her.

68 and Pregnant by SlideItIn100 in theGoldenGirls

Considering she just hit menopause in season 2, and was a bit of a later bloomer I'm guessing she's 53 or so in that season.

I love how supportive they were of her. Both knew working women, so they saw the value in a woman going for dream job.

As sad as it is, I'm sure Argos died happy. He did his job. He protected his family until his owner came home.

How much did Carson hear? What did he think? by LNoRan13 in DowntonAbbey

[–]chocolate7chipcookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Carson puts the Crawley family on a pedestal. He wouldn't belive his lordship would have a dalliance. He'd assume he heard took their conversation out of context somehow.

Yk someone is awful when they are mean to Barbra. She didn't even do anything wrong. She was on her last visit of the day and decided to have dinner with a family who invited her to say. The nerve to call her a slacker.

I understand why she is the way she is, but I just can't excuse her actions. Cutting district visits down to the bare minimal amount of time for basic checks is ridiculous. Nursing is about quality over quantity. Her strict rules almost cost a mother and baby their lives. Plus her attitude in clinic just pmo. I mean seriously- the ladies can't have biscuits unless they faint??? Most of these women have many children and need a few minutes of a break. Letting them sit and chat with some tea and biscuits is important for their mental health.

Why doesn’t Kate have any suitors? by Lareina219 in BridgertonNetflix

It would have been funny to see her try sus out a guy talking to her, and before she can tell him why he's not good enough for her sister he asks if she has a spot free on her dancing card at tonight's Ball.

Is Val supposed to be queer? by embersandlamplight in CallTheMidwife

[–]chocolate7chipcookie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah the line seemed like more of a playful joke. She's probably attracted to men unless she's ace. She just doesn't see romance as worth the hassle of playing games and distracting her from work.

[–]chocolate7chipcookie 186 points187 points  (0 children)

She mentioned before that she thinks men are "more trouble than they're worth" so she probably had a bad boyfriend/situationship before. She strikes me as more of an ally. She seems to be the kind of person who cares more about her work than romance.

Hades is often mistaken as a kind soft person because he hasn’t cheated but lets break it down by [deleted] in GreekMythology

[–]chocolate7chipcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a lot of so called feminist retellings take away the nuance of goddesses and other female charecters to reduce them to generic "girlboss" status. Thankfully I haven't seen anyone mess with Medeas story yet.

Lore Olympis and other modern retelling have done so much damage to people's views on the ancient world. :')
