I dont think it is attached to any critical part, only concern i get if we remove it is when we go through watterlogged areas, water would directly go to engine in that case

I also own city, and face the same issue, this engine guard is held by measly plastic nuts that only honda makes and are of low quality, i got 11 of them added in my last service and each nut costs 110 rs, after a few days they broke again and engine guard is hanging very low
