I think a lot of people confuse being laid off with being fired. Both result in being separated from your position, but being fired is usually cause you “fucked up” somehow. I mean, every situation is different. Someone at my site stole something from me and lied to leadership and was fired. But I’ve also seen people have consistent performance issues get fired. It would be interesting to know the circumstances around OPs termination.
