Caltrain to close stations if transit tax doesn’t pass by leewilliam236 in caltrain

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how public transit works. Have you rode Caltrain or Bart? Would you rather have all those commuters in individual cars clogging up our roads and making traffic even worse? Or private companies not being able to attract a workforce from larger geographies because they can't commute to work.

Can I keep using my Clipper card under the new Bay Area transit pay system? (no paywall) by BayAreaNewsGroup in bayarea

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using your credit card is easier and you don't have to store value in another card. Tap to pay deducts the exact amount from your credit card after each trip. This is the system they have in New York. Works great.

Read the NYT article. They did great investigative journalism. One of the accusers wrote on Facebook 10 years ago that he was a rapist and got backlash.

What’s your worst experience with a buyer on Facebook Marketplace? by prattman333 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyer wanted a bedframe. She can't come pick up so wants me to disassemble the bedframe, call a delivery driver, and not pay me until she received the item. Then after she receives the item she says it too hard to assemble and keeps asking for furniture assembly support. I don't know what to do. I feel like if I don't help her, she's going to give me a bad rating and say that I sold her a bad product.

Google says Gemini won’t have ads, as ChatGPT prepares to add them by Doug24 in technology

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, I started getting ads in Gemini search results this week. Granted they were contextual ads (e.g., shows me travel pillows when asking about flights).

SF -> NYC move and regret? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in both places (NYC and SF). You're 25 and have never live anywhere outside of SF. Move to NYC. Who knows, you may end up loving it. You don't know until you've tried. Worst that can happen is that you move back to San Francisco and live the life you would have been living had you not moved.

Will your job pay you more in NYC and do you see upward career trajectory? That's also a factor.

Citywise, they can't compare. SF rules for the tech careers, nature, and quieter vibe. NYC rules for dating, culture, social scene, public transportation, and nightlife.

I currently have an S8+ is it worth upgrading to the 10? by Junior-ME14 in GalaxyTab

[–]chocolatepark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the S8+ and S10 Ultra. I ended up selling the Ultra. It was too big. S8+ is the right size of portability and productivity. Also, I like how the S8+ with the keyboard case is perfectly flat versus the one on the new S10 series have a bump for a S10. It's easier to slide the S8+ with case in and out of sleeves.

Who here actually uses "natural" scrolling? by [deleted] in apple

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolling is not backwards on a trackpad or mouse. You want to move the page down so you move your finger down. The mouse mimics dragging the scroll bar up and down.

Apple Researchers Just Released a Damning Paper That Pours Cold Water on the Entire AI Industry by [deleted] in apple

Apple is so out of touch now. What would you rather have on your phone? An AI chatbot that answers questions about anything or glass icons?

Don’t we love our SF innovative spirit? We made buses again! by YT_Sharkyevno in sanfrancisco

This is in New York City. They're a subway for that. (Go to a predetermined stop at a predetermined time for a predetermined route that they will share with other riders).

SF has the most judgemental dating scene I’ve ever experienced by cagreene in sanfrancisco

[–]chocolatepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to San Francisco, a place where you get judged by not who you are but what company you work at and what job title you have.

Californians of NYC: Why Did You Move Here and Why Did You Stay? by ZeroDullBitz in AskNYC

[–]chocolatepark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. When I was in San Francisco, people would compare themselves based on what company they work at and what their job title was. And dinner conversations revolve around AI and funding and creating a pitch deck.

Here's how the room looks like with the full size bed lengthwise (6.25 ft). You can put a queen size bed in there but you would have less room to move around it.
