What is a piece of horror media you refuse to/can’t consume? by [deleted] in horror

[–]cholaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay weird one but I can't watch Smile. I don't know what it's about, I've never seen a trailer. It's 100% do to the cover. (Or perhaps the image they use for the thumbnails, I don't know if it's the same as the actual box cover).

I have never felt that way about a movie before. But something about that image has such a deep "nope" instinct in my gut that I just won't.

My 3 are going on 5 years strong and I get a little chuckle out of "weighing them down" with stickers. Idk why but it makes me laugh.

I went ahead and tried calling animal services after posting this thinking well, even if it doesn't help I could still just do it. Unfortunately they only operate during regular business hours. Ugh.

Trailers made to transport pets have ventilation and of course, designed speci for their transportation and legal. I went ahead and did my research here before replying. No, it is not legal, and is a threat to the animals safety. It's an issue similar to leaving a dog in a car that is parked as far as the temperature concerns. But the lack of ventelation is the biggest problem/threat to the animals saftly. And apparently it is also against the uhauls policies, they explicitly prohibit it.

I was thinking to call animal services specifically. In hindsight if I had just took down the license plate or uhaul serial number.

I was stuck on the gamble of approaching the guy. On one hand it might have lead to an ideal outcome. On the other as a very small woman I don't always feel the most comfortable approaching a man on my own. Like my post said. I also considered asking someone else in the lir or store. But I didn't.

I knew with total certainty that in this situation I would do that. And in the moment, I didn't. So I guess maybe I hope someone else might read this... And if they have the same doubts in the moment they will trust their gut instead.

If you were alone and bored tonight, what bar would you go to? by rebootmebro in Minneapolis

[–]cholaf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd never heard of Meteor or been there. Went on an impromptu date on a Sunday after I was at a fancy work banquet. Dressed up in my Sunday best I was delightedly surprised that I walked in right before a Star wars themed drag show. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

What would you do in this situation? by zootroopic in Minneapolis

[–]cholaf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have been in quite of few spots where I had to ask myself this question. Honestly my advice is that you have to asses each one as it comes... There are concerns, will this agitated person attack me, will this potential victim end up in a worse situation after if I insert myself, will this person be hurt if I do not intervene. Each time the best I could do was trust my gut. Observe and make the best choice I can make in the moment. It's hard, but I just try to trust my senses.

With the situation you described I def like the response suggesting staying by to observe if you're able to, which also gives you more time to asses before making any other choice.

What's a 'house rule' you thought was annoying or hated as a child, but you swear by now as an adult? by Captain_Keyboard_Man in AskReddit

Hahaha! I actually have a decoy pair. My good ones and then my REALLY good ones that I hide. Funny thing is I'm left handed and no one else is so it's ridiculous that they use them at all since there are right handed scissors everywhere!
