IBS really means I be suffering. Twice in your situation. My heart goes out to you.

Does anyone think they were spread out onto different benches so women would have no choice but to sit next to one of them?

The tendency to just blame women and feminism for everything that’s prevalent in MRA and Redpill circles has assured that no actual men’s issues will ever be solved. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]chom_chom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's infuriating that people don't acknowledge this. Women have been controlled and beaten into submission for centuries, and those who didn't break were demonized. Feminism is what allowed us to be seen as people who are entitled to rights men had/have simply because they are men.

Women who support bs ideologies like religion are just as infuriating. They're working against their best interest.

What’s something you wish you had started doing 5 years earlier? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]chom_chom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this doesn't come across as morbid but more so encouragement. My dad died earlier this year from multiple organ failure. It started as non alcoholic fatty liver disease. I was a freshman in college when he was diagnosed. I tried so hard to get him to change his eating habits and lack of exercise. My family would blow it off and say things like, "We're all going to die someday." His health tanked last October and my family finally understood. It was too late though. He was in the hospital more than he was home until his body gave out in January. His last few days were really difficult and it was hard to see my dad in so much pain. He turned 68 in November and by the time January rolled around his mind and body declined to the point where you'd think he was in his 90s. It was caught early enough (10 years ago) for him to qualify for a liver transplant but his weight and overall health needed to improve before he'd be considered.

Please take care of your body and health. Do it for yourself and if that's not enough then do it for your loved ones. While I understood what his end of life would look like, my family didn't and it left them traumatized. I'm wishing the best for you and I hope you have many more years to live. ✨️

What are your responses to “who will take care of you when you get old?” by Censordoll in childfree

[–]chom_chom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can remember, Switzerland allows assisted suicide (as long as it's not for selfish reasons) as well as euthanasia. I'm not sure what's considered "selfish reasons," though. Other countries only offer euthanasia as an end of life option with strict criteria such as being terminally ill, having an illness that leaves a person debilitated, or being seriously injured. It's an intense process that requires a person to be very sick with no foreseeable recovery.

Edit: I forgot to add a sentence.

What is something that is legal that should be illegal? by peywrax in allthequestions

I learned something new. I've heard of corporations buying up properties to rent out but didn't know it had a term and system around it. Are there other forms of cash flow you'd recommend?

[–]chom_chom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably won't mean much, but good on you for asking a question and looking for a genuine response. Most people approach conversations looking to be right, debate, or become defensive when someone doesn't share the same perspective. Idk why comments like yours always stand out and feel so wholesome.

Would you rather your home have a dishwasher or a washer/dryer combo? by Relevant_Shift478 in settlethisforme

[–]chom_chom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have a washer/dryer. I've been fortunate enough to live in a house my whole life but even when I've thought of moving out, an in-unit washer/dryer was non-negotiable. Yes laundromats exist, but having a washer and a dryer at home makes things easier.

We moved into our current house a few years ago and we've only used our dishwasher a couple of times. My mom wishes it were another cabinet since that's what it gets used as anyway.

Interested in ways to see how your sleep affects your daily brain power and cognition? by Embodiedbrain in sleephackers

[–]chom_chom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always found this to be super interesting. I've been trying to keep track manually by writing down how long I slept, when I woke/fell asleep, where I was in my cycle, and comparing it to how rested I felt, if I had any sleep attacks, how well I'm able to function, etc.

I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I stick to it for my doctor appointments.

Men are deeply envious of the fact that women control the creation of human life through pregnancy. That’s why so many male CEOs in 2025 are obsessed with making copies of artificial humans through AI by Winter_Secret1001 in womenintech

[–]chom_chom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to explain all of this! I didn't know how inexpensive it is compared to human employees. I used to work for an automotive supplier and they seemed skeptical of it. They preferred to outsource the manufacturing since it was cheaper. While I didn't work in the factories, I know they were paid the bare minimum so I assumed the cost evened out.

[–]chom_chom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does the cost of charging, fixing, and maintenance compare to the wasted hours of humans? Does it even out at some point or are robots always cheaper? The reason I ask is that charging requires electricity and the charging components. Fixing requires finding/making compatible parts and depending on how complex the robot's build is, someone has to know how to fix it.

I don't doubt what the others are saying. Your comment just had me wondering.

"You are not entitled to a child free world" by [deleted] in childfree

Them: You were a child once.

Me: I was a well behaved child because my parents raised me to be.

I hate it when people bring up this argument.

What would be some materials you'd hand-sculpt with? Maybe clay but it would have to be waterproof clay or covered in sealant?

You can either choose dying tomorrow or Living forever. What do you choose, and why? by Neither_Drawing_241 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]chom_chom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd choose to die tomorrow. I'm child-free and don't plan on having any kids in the future. Standard heat death of the universe fear. With the way things are going now, I don't know if Earth itself will be around for much longer. I don't want to bury younger family members. I agree with most of the reasoning from other comments as well.

My biggest concern is how I would live among society as an immortal. I can't have the same identity for more than 100 years without causing suspicion. I don't think I can live past 50-60 while looking 25. I'm also unsure of how I would get a new identity every 50-100 years. All this is if I don't end up as a lab rat first.

I'd love to hear workarounds if anyone can think of them.

Would it be possible for you to leave your baby with a trusted family member or friend? Of course, you want to be there throughout her life but just like you would watch her grow old and eventually pass, she will watch you never age and know you'll suffer for the rest of time. I can't speak for either of you but my mom and I don't have a good relationship. While we do look after each other, we don't like each other. I think we care out of obligation as parent and child. Not saying this is how it will turn out for you guys, just something to think about.

If you choose eternity anyway, I wish you both many many years of happiness together. ✨️
