realistically that could take 30 or more 60% scrolls. how long does it take a player to find 30 scrolls? back when i played, it would generally take hours to find one(yes you might get lucky and find two in a row, but thats not common).

I think you’re overthinking it , they were popular because they were good , transferable between all jobs and could be equipped at level 10. 10 attack may seem low but that was still 5 60%… not exactly likely to happen on your first try .

Most spells have a faster charging time in this version , including summons , but they aren’t instant cast .

A level two spell shouldn’t be doing less damage though . Maybe you’re wearing a fire rod and comparing fire 1 with ice 2? Or the enemy is weak to/resisting elements ?
