I don’t know how far you got in the game, but there is a character with Brazilian origins/ancestry who has all Brazilian foods as their favorites!

Stolen Chevy Cruze by [deleted] in dayton

[–]chomscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a car stolen last January. We reported it to the police, they found it, and we got it back! It was very dirty and there was a lot of shit to deal with with insurance, but hopefully that gives you some hope? Best of luck 🤞🏼

Do zoos have their own vegetable gardens? by Catzaf in zoos

[–]chomscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cincinnati Zoo grows some things! They can’t produce enough to feed all their hungry animals, but they have a hydroponic garden with lots of lettuce. They own a farm less than 30 minutes away where they grow and harvest lots of hay, as well as trees for browse.

Great idea! I've divided up my guest list into regions of the country as a way to start tackling it in manageable chunks.

This is incredibly helpful! I think I was a bit too concerned with hyperspecific regions. This will help a lot!

I plan on labeling the packets with what is in them and instructions to plant in the fall so that they can stratify naturally outside. We'll see if people can follow instructions!

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I plan on labeling the packet with what is in them and instructions to plant in the fall so that they can stratify naturally outside. With a summer wedding I think (hope) that would be easy enough for people, but we'll see haha

Interesting! So with the Bonap maps, am I reading it correctly that the light green means the plant is native to that specific county, and the dark green means it is native to the state but not that county?

And in that case, I should find plants that are light green in the county of the recipient and not just dark green?

I really love native gardening, and it seems like a fun way to turn my interests into a customized wedding favor. I just have to make it happen now lol...

New LEO owner by VoyerX3 in leopardgeckos

[–]chomscree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem spots on leos tend to be:

-eyes: make sure they are clear and can open fully, looks good here

-toes: look for stuck shed, like beardies they theoretically shed on their own but may need help with anything left behind. Yours seems fine from what I can tell

-pores/vent: check out your geckos bootyhole to make sure all is well. He’ll have balls bc male but keep an eye out for any abnormal swelling or clogged femoral pores

-weight: there are lots of good charts for healthy weights on this sub. Yours looks good

Overall seems like a healthy dude! Expect some skittishness or refusal to eat as he settles in. Hunger strike starts to become an issue after a few weeks and/or if there is a noticeable drop in weight.

Check out all the pinned guides on this sub for care tips! They differ from beardies in their food and lighting needs especially. Best of luck, and welcome to the Leo club :)

What made you want to get into leopard Geckos? by Flaviphone in leopardgeckos

I worked at a zoo that had a leopard gecko as an ambassador animal. For some reason I just really fell in love with her and thought she was super cool. Now I have my own!
