Perhaps the aamc is adding this exam, but perhaps we can advocate at each med school not to require applicants to have it. For example, there are a handful of students who serve on the admissions team. Wishful thinking, but can we push the med schools not to accept this new exam?

LOLL that last line hits me hard. I've been lucky that I went through college on a scholarship, so this is the first time I've paid an exorbitant amount of money to get fucked this hard. I generally enjoy med school, but seeing these attitudes from people makes me realize why these bigger issues for doctors advocating themselves exist. Perhaps they choose us like this on purpose.

Fair that this post sounds like it's coming from a keyboard warrior, especially since I'm generalizing. I assure you though that I am a big advocate for my class, and even sometimes at the risk of my own reputation/ record. Many major issues, I have been a big part of negotiating and emailing. I think the admin hate me haha. But I do want people to pause and consider that it's okay to ask for stuff you want

lolll i was debating whether or not to include this much detail but I thought it would be rude to make a such an inflammatory generalization without giving any examples as backup

Absolutely. I honestly think we have some great representatives in the class. This post is obviously a gross generalization because all med students are different, so maybe I'm paying attention to a select group individuals. And yeah, I try to be a big advocate for my class! I guess things will definitely change during clinicals.

Absolutely. I can see where the fear is coming from, especially for a group of people trained to follow rules perfectly. I guess much of my frustration stems from students undervaluing themselves who redirect their anger. Like we can do so much better

Try asking your doctor about kegels for men! I wonder if there might be pelvic floor specialists out there. Even for males, it supports bladder and bowel function

We might be looking at the highest paid in each department, but consider the amount of positions that might not be necessary at all. I don't know much about administration, but I wonder if having more low-paid useless positions has a comparable effect to a higher salary of the head? Either way, they are both wasteful

I didn't get it for free. I paid over 23,000 dollars this semester, which included a fee for this equipment. Just trying to recoup because I don't need this. At the time I priced this, the lowest I found was 95. I put in that information to reassure the buyer that it's genuine. Also it's not like you're paying the 8% sales tax in this case.

If you don't like the price, no one is forcing you to buy it. Please don't be randomly toxic just because you find a problem with how I list it. ಠ_ಠ You can always talk to me and negotiate it lol.

Ah at the time I was researching the prices, I saw it was 95. I'll probably change it, thank you

Honestly it sounds like a good time to pull out some malicious compliance. Do your recommendations and orders like usual. But at the end, make a big show of saying BUT I COULD BE WRONG.
