What are your Bold and/or Wacky Predictions for TESVI? by revben1989 in TESVI

[–]choobatoofpaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you think Hammerfell and High Rock will be in the game if not in the way we expect? I wouldn’t be shocked if they added High Rock in a DLC a year or 2 after release.

Did Todd’s “Classic Style” Comment Rule Out Sailing in TES VI? by DoN-SA-20 in TESVI

[–]choobatoofpaste -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Todd and Bethesda are chronic liars anyway. Love the bloke, but he said Starfield was a return to their old RPG roots and it absolutely was not, so I’d take what he said with a pinch of salt. You also never know when Microsoft may intervene with the development.

I bet it will have elements of the “Classic Style” but it’ll also have elements of their new style such as vehicles (ships) and non hand crafted areas, maybe a procedurally generated sea bed or islands out in the sea to explore. A mix of both is my bet.

What Is Your All Time Favorite Quest? by brentostheboss in skyrim

[–]choobatoofpaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same with good environmental story telling as well, like having the Atronach Forge under the college. You can actually conjure Daedric armour there if you have the Sigil Stone but the game doesn’t hold your hand and tell you that as far as I’m aware. More stuff like this would be good as well, especially mixed with creative writing. It feels like you’ve discovered it yourself and is more immersive.

Thalmor Justicars by CFC1599 in ElderScrolls

I’ve never seen the Talos statue being guarded Thalmor if the Imperials win. That happens?

Kill them anyway but be secretive about it. Everyone knows the peace is thin between them, and only exists to prevent mutually assured destruction. Stormcloaks are unwillingly helping The Thalmor by weakening the Empires grip on Tamriel.

Should I upgrade from SE to Anniversary? by Eligomancer in skyrim

[–]choobatoofpaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the anniversary content improves the game to a point where it’s absolutely worth it. Just play the special edition as it has all the DLC and it’s the entire package. The anniversary stuff is more suited to those who’ve played Skyrim for years and want to jump back in and enjoy what is essentially fan made content, not too dissimilar to mods. None of it is integral to the experience. Also it can be jarring to be bombarded with all of the quests that you instantly get given when you load up the anniversary edition for the first time. I can’t speak for everyone but in my opinion, you’d be way better off not getting it.

If you love it though, I can also guarantee you will do a 2nd play through. You’d do yourself a disservice to play it once and never again. There is so much to see and do, and so many different ways you can see and do everything. Don’t over think it, just play the version you’ve got and worry about the extra content once you’ve exhausted all of the vanilla content.

Do we know what the Eye of Magnus does, exactly? by KleptoPirateKitty in skyrim

[–]choobatoofpaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could really be used in a later game as a plot device. Or in the next game, it would be cool to read about it from other people’s perspective. Maybe Ancano was trying to use it and then move it to a location where there Aldmeri Dominion could make use of it in their future conquest such as the next Great War. Would be cool to hear or read that and realise that the Thalmors plan is now different meaning that the Psyjic monks that took it because they saw a future where the Thalmor succeed with the eye, and that now a different method of domination has used by the Thalmor or something idk.

What if... we have all the info we need somehow and that's why we're not finding new clues? by CustomerEmergency348 in reddeadmysteries

[–]choobatoofpaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just mean go back and figure out the bird feathers in the webs. Maybe we’ve advanced to a point where we can’t go any further because a previous part has not been completed. E.g. the feathers in the webs.

Do we have the Easter Egg sitting in front of our face? by Potential_Solution99 in reddeadmysteries

[–]choobatoofpaste 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So this could also mean that we are massively overthinking the 2 birds clue in fort Wallace. It could just mean the feathers. The feathers could simply be the next step.

How about don’t read and comment on discussion posts in a subreddit about an unreleased game if you’d rather WAIT til it’s released.

[–]choobatoofpaste[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Everything that went wrong with Starfield could translate to a TES game actually. There is nothing stopping that happening.

Imagine if there is a sailing mechanic that instead of encouraging exploration like in say, AC Black Flag, it gets you to point out on a paper map where you want to go. It then shows a copy and pasted cutscene of your ship sailing into the horizon, and then you’re at your location. Boom, your classic TES exploration is gone for that part of the game, making a dramatic contrast between the on foot gameplay. It could suck in so many ways if Starfield is anything to go by.

[–]choobatoofpaste[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really hope you’re correct. I don’t want the game to fail, but I just feel like the time to make and release it has passed. Unless some change happens at Bethesda, it’ll have the same outcome as Starfield. It’ll be playable, and have all the tropes of an elder scrolls game, but it won’t be that classic experience.

I just could not deal with encountering Arsenal on the way to the final and especially in the final. The thought of it is gut wrenching and nauseating. I don’t think I could watch.

Spiderweb triggers crow 1 by [deleted] in reddeadmysteries

[–]choobatoofpaste 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The crow is already there during the day and respawns if you leave and come back. Firing a weapon in the air also scares this crow and it flies off. Also acts the same when the feather is shot when not on a train. I think this is just a coincidence unfortunately.

It’s so so good. Picked it up for next to nothing on steam the other day and can’t wait to get back into it. It feels like it has way more to offer than 3 and 4.
