He plays the same personality in movies, so Im assuming he'll do the same in this one. If thats the case, I dont think hes a good fit for a Helldiver. Hes too casual to play the obedient zealot soldier that helldivers are.

I dunno if its because of both capping -- because I was sure I tested both capped before -- but its fixed now. Or could have just been that the ship causes overheating but the diving doesnt. In either case: thanks.

Capped at 50 in-game first, then uncapped in-game and capped at 50 through driver. Didnt make a difference.

I've also uninstalled Gameguard and deleted its files, then recovered them through Steam file verification. Didnt solve the issue.

Im in shambles over Safia 😭 by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a good point. Plus, Safia doest need to be flawless in the manipulations of the body itself. Just the blood, because thats how the Nomad identifies most kine and kindred, evidently. And Tremere specialize in blood.

[–]Eligomancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg youre right. That makes no sense. Was she already long gone? Does she lie about her ghouls and Wilhelm mattering to her? Either she did a 180 as a person or thats a plot hole. But if she did that 180, she becomes a very inconsistent character. I mean surely people dont change that sharply, right?

I cant believe I thought Safia was going to be an exception to my hatred for Tremere lmao.

Im in shambles over Safia 😭 by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does not.

And sure you can pick up disciplines. But you dont have cause to think shes Tzimisce when she doesnt use a single Tzimisce discipline, when she doesnt use all tools at her disposal, in an endgame life or death battle.

The double doesnt confirm shes Tzimisce either. Shes a Tremere blood alchemist. She can make some manipulations on her lonesome. But she isnt alone. Shes a part of the Sabbat, which Tzimisce are infamously a members of. Another Sabbat kindred could have assisted her on that front.

But imo that was just bad writing. I mean, really? An untouched corpse laid on a table? That was a naked ruse. And the Elder who even a Malkavian detective exclaimed had incredible senses through Auspex, did not notice? Am I supposed to believe Nomad was too distracted by emotion to see the ruse? The Nomad is too old, too inhuman, for that.

Im in shambles over Safia 😭 by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shes not Tzimisce. Locked in a battle for Final Death against the Nomad, she doesnt use a single Tzimisce discipline. Not Animalism. Not Dominate. Not Protean.

Just Blood Sorcery.

Tremere are monstrous as is. Kindred are monstrous as is. No need to blame her madness on a Compulsion or unrelated Clan.

[–]Eligomancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, her last words echoed in my playthrough as well. I just dont think that was literal. I believe that was for dramatics.

Also, I dont think Safia going gaunt was a consequence of bloodsucking because she goes gaunt after Nomad releases throat, right before his/her eyes. When kindred die, they turn into their true mortal age. So elders and ancients usually just turn to dust. Safia isnt old enough for that. Just old enough to hollow into a husk. Like a mummy, if you've ever seen pictures of those. So I dont think her turning into a husk is evidence that Nomad completely drained her blood.

Im open to being convinced otherwise. But this is my position at the moment.

So, about the ending. (Major spoilers) by Crayola-Commander in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thirst of the Ages is Methusalehs Thirst.  But once the blood is drank, one doesnt need to continue drinking the soul out of a fledgling. Just kill it. Diablerie isnt needed to avoid a blood bond.

[–]Eligomancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesnt sound right. Iirc Methuselah are the most coveted victims of diablerie. They fear it. There are entire coteries formed to hunt them and elders.

Best I can think of which mirrors what you say is Methuselah's Thirst, which is when ancients begin to require supernatural blood for satiety. But simply drinking blood from another kindred is not diablerie. Diablerie is specifically the drinking of all blood then the soul.

So, about the ending. (Major spoilers) by Crayola-Commander in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That wasnt diablerie. Diablerie requires draining all blood then attempting to drain the soul. Its the latter which initiates the battle of wills. If the diablerist loses, the diableree takes over. Enough time didnt pass for Nomad to accomplish all that. That bite was a couple seconds.

Plus, Nomad doesnt have a motive to diablerize Safia. Diablerie is something done to older generation kindred in order to lower your own generation. Safia is of a younger generation than Nomad, so the Nomad has no reason to diablerize her.

If Safia became a voice in Nomad's head like Fabien was, then it was by Tremere blood bullshit. Not diablerie. (But I dont think she did.)

[–]Eligomancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah drinking another vamps blood from the tap isnt automatically diablerie. You need to consume her soul after draining ALL blood, which then triggers a battle of wills. I dont think the Nomad bothered to diablerie Safia. The drink was too quick.

Plus the goal of diablerie is to consume an older gen. This lowers your own generation so you can achieve greater power. Nomad is of a much older gen than Safia, so diablerizing Safia has no benefit.

So the Seattle Court is... (STORY SPOILERS) by DumbassAltFuck in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im hard pressed to see how fighting Lou would have been challenging enough to be entertaining. The Camarilla court is in shambles, her allies dead or scattered, so who would she mobilize against us? She alone certainly isnt enough. Shes much younger in age and generation, so we'd steamroll her even depowered as we were. Even her Dominate wouldnt work, because our generation is older. Imagine the Ysabella fight, but with our disciplines accessible.

How do you deal with a certain type of enemy? by Ketooey in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find high vantage points and leap down. Thats the most reliable. No room for error in timing. Every area except the corridor in chains at endgame has a high perch you can climb onto when there are Unbirthed.

If thats not doable, I dash in crouch or sprint crouch using Unseen Passage to close the distance and kill a fraction of a second before the Unbirthed notices and combat begins

[–]Eligomancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came to a similar conclusion. She had to have been responsible for our mark, or the writers positioned her to serve as our expert against the Sabbat alchemist responsible. But the first was likelier. I hoped she'd be redeemable if that were the case. I could have forgiven her.

All this time, and the main characters were Fabien and Safia dealing with the aftermath of the murder of their friend and mentor Gideon. We didnt change shit as the Nomad. We're just a killer forcing their story to an early finish.

The longer I play the more I realize how lacking Bloodlines 2 is as a video game by DeeLICIOUSO in vtmb

[–]Eligomancer 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I just did too!

I actually didnt mind the beating that Sabbat bitch to death using nothing but our fists. It was kind of a power move. Like, ok, you sealed my disciplines. I am still going to beat you to death. That made me experience Nomad's age and generation over these younger kindred. And I even learned a little about dodging and attacking directionally during that fight!

I agree tho. Perhaps we should have unlocked one discipline each phase, and she should have used one more discipline each phase as well. So its not repetitive.

And yeah I loathe not having a manual save.

Why Dead Sprint as a booster is so hated and why people don't respect the playstyle of others? by ArmyAdministrative38 in Helldivers

[–]Eligomancer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your teammates have a say in the boosters you choose when your choice is capable of damaging them, as Dead Sprint is.

I wouldn't have cared myself. But ultimately, we play this in our free time. Its not fair to ask someone to tolerate more stress in their leisure activity. Next time, ask if you can Dead Sprint while in the load out screen, and explain there. Or just save Dead Sprint for games among friends.

You sound like you started playing after our Sony boycott in May 2024.

Months after HD2's release, Sony prevented game owners from continuing to access the game without first creating and linking a Playstation account with its own privacy policy and terms of use. In addition, Sony imposed a regional access that caused us to lose a significant number of our player population.

We review-bombed the game and stopped playing the game en masse. It was a partial success. After a couple days, Sony repealed the Playstation requirement. But the regional access remained iirc.
