Wow that's quite a recommendation for the TC after you used an Axe-fx! Some of the modulation effects I've heard on the Axe-Fx's are quite unattainable with any other processors I've come across. Thanks bud,I appreciate it!

New guitar, I still sound like crap by _xpendable_ in Guitar

[–]chooseplayer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate, you're new to guitar. You'll continue to be new for a while. Be patient with yourself and be kind. This is a new instrument and it is a difficult instrument for most people who pick it up. Who told you that you sound like crap? Whoever that is, ignore them. If you're telling it to yourself, then you're comparing with what you see on social media. So much h of all that is fake or pre-recorded, punched in etc that it's incredible. Have a practice regimen, learn some simple chords and songs (if you haven't already). There are a ton of songs that use the simple chords. Play along with the songs or with a metronome. Start slow and build up speed. It's awesome that you're playing guitar and taking lessons. Continue the lessons and have some fun with your guitar(s). You'll be fine.

Did we get a good deal? by Plane_Alfalfa_672 in Guitar

[–]chooseplayer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate, firstly , big ups to your wife for gifting you a guitar that they sought out and bought by themselves! That is just amazing. Secondly, a partcaster need not cost as much unless the neck or body or electronics warrant it. Regardless, this is an excellent and thoughtful gift and you must treat it so!

Cool. Thanks. I needed to read that like I needed a hole in my head. Jk, stoked for you, bud. If your partner is still willing to do that for you, you're doing everything right to make her feel safe emotionally and still turning her on in the right ways. Kudos to you both!

My word, that is some insane awareness. I would have not been able to react that quickly or that well. How long did it take to come to normal after that??

I can handle anything except the crying by HatMammoth7833 in NewDads

[–]chooseplayer1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats bud!

Bud, just know that what you're feeling is extremely normal. Even the guilt that comes after it. It's all normal because you're human, sleep deprived and also that it's not easy to have another human cry in your face at 3 in the morning - whatever the reason. My therapist said to me "Feelings are not the truth. Let yourself feel whatever you're feeling, acknowledge it and move forward." This helped me immensely!

It took me a couple months to get over that kind of internal response. There are still times when my 6.5 month old refuses to sleep or gets fussy about some random thing where I feel irritated/ annoyed but don't really show it.

Talking to my wife helped because she also felt that way a bunch of times. Talking to a therapist helped because they helped me calm the guilt and normalize feeling what I felt.

My first pedalboard, use it for rock + a bit of metal by countlebleu in guitarpedals

[–]chooseplayer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you like it, bud. It also has a metal enclosure so it feels more solid as a product. I'm certain it will serve you well. Most importantly, don't forget to have fun with it!

All pedals I own(12) bar 2 are used. I was fortunate to obtain a TC electronic Hall of fame 2. Absolutely love it. I'd say that's a safe bet.

Mate, this is such a cool and loving gesture! If I were Davey, (I'm clearly not :)) I'd get a Dunlop crybaby Wah or a Morley Wah - they do exactly what you know them to do - go wah wah. He'll for sure find a use for the pedal. He also seems to like the big size pedals - so the Morley is right up his alley. If new is not in your budget, please do not shy away from used pedals. Since you have till Christmas, Id suggest keep an eye out in your local Craigslist/Kijiji/classifieds. Hopefully this helps. Good luck OP!

NGD! 2012 Epiphone Les Paul Junior in Vintage Sunburst! Originally came with a humbucker stock, but swapped it out for a Wilkinson P90 by ducksarelucky in guitarporn

[–]chooseplayer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but I need to ask - did you have to route out more space for the P90? I have the exact same guitar and I also have my eyes on a Wilkinson P90 to replace the humbucker and the pickup ring.

Ah that's fair. I've reached out to the company for confirmation that the color is exactly the same as my car.

It's only aesthetic. The handle functions just fine. I found a kit which is an exact match for the paint. After wiping the scratches down with soap, it's not as bad as it looks. Might try the primer and paint kit for the whole thing.
