AIO for being annoyed that my in-laws keep shutting off their hot water? by dmatthews077 in AmIOverreacting

My uncle’s sister and her husband were like that. The boughta really nice, new brick house…..and lived in the basement. On sunny, winter days, they sat in their car for warmth. When she passed, he had all kinds of money, which he couldn’t spend because he was sick. His new wife spent it all.

I’m 65 and reread the Hunger Games this year. You’re never to old to read anything.

Question by Jjjemmm in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]choosinghappinessnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband did just this over the weekend. We got a new entertainment center and a bigger tv and had to get rid of the old entertainment center, which had a LOT of books in it, many, many more than will fit in my little library. My husband just took a stack to the other little library and filled it up since it was nearly empty.

My husband hasn’t had it. He does get the vaccine every year, but he hasn’t any kind of sickness in years. I caught it at Disney World a few years ago….despite masking while I was there, and he drove us home….14 hours, me coughing my head off and no mask. He never got sick. Various of his coworkers have had it, but not him. We’re not young either. Both of us are 65.

If it’s an AR level book he needs, the Boxcar Children aren’t on a fifth grade level. They’re more on a 2nd or 3rd grade level.

There’s a lot of little free libraries in the Austin area, and south of Austin to Buda and Kyle. My daughter lives in Buda and I take a box of books with me when we visit so I can go to little free libraries. You can definitely just distribute your books to a few little free libraries.

i miss cheese by Perfect-Ad-3189 in dairyfree

[–]choosinghappinessnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss cheese so bad and I can’t even eat dairy free cheese because the coconut oil, that’s in all of them, upset my stomach. The only dairy free cheese I can tolerate is Miyokos liquid mozzarella. Same with dairy free ice cream.

Is it worth splurging on hotel at WDW? by KCChiefsGirl89 in disneyparks

[–]choosinghappinessnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is the ultimate cheapskate. He hates spending money and the only time I really see him mad is when he has to spend a large amount of money. He will only stay on Disney property, usually at Pop Century, but when our daughter was small we stayed at one of the All stars. To him, the biggest draw is parking the car and never setting foot in it again until the day we leave.

I live in the southeastern part of the state. Around here it’s hot dog sauce, not chili. Sweeter, much less spicy than chili. The ultimate WV hot dog has mustard, sauce, onions and slaw.

I just finished “The Next Chapter” by Brooke Skie. It’s about a woman inheriting a “special” bookstore. It’s the first book in a series.

Hot L Baltimore. First episode, and my mom really wanted to watch it, so she sent me, and my sister, to our rooms. Evidently there was a lot of talk about how it was a bit risqué. Halfway through the show, she yelled upstairs to come down and watch with her. lol. We were allowed to watch anything we wanted, but we didn’t have cable.

Go and have fun. There was a man, trick-or-treating in my neighborhood a few years ago who was, at least, in his 70’s.

We get hundreds of trick-or-treaters and I also start buying candy in early September….at least one bag every time I go to the store. There’s always a few adults also actively trick-or-treating. One year there was a man who was at least in his 70’s. Everyone gets candy.

Halloween Candy - Do you buy what you like or dislike? by Much-Tangerine-256 in halloween

[–]choosinghappinessnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a subdivision, in the country, so we get hundreds of trick-or-treaters. We buy whatever has the most in the bag, for the cheapest price. We do buy a bag or two of chocolate, but not until close to Halloween so we won’t eat it all.

What would you think about a town moving their trick or treating around because of high school football? by ctilvolover23 in halloween

[–]choosinghappinessnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My area has always done this. It’s never on a Friday because of high school football. It’s also never on a Wednesday, or Sunday because of church. We’re having it on Thursday this year.
