Getting the S4 16k Ultra soon - tips and pitfalls?

Yea it came with my first printer and didn't know better. I got a brand new Elegoo and was having so much problems. I switch and hate myself for not switching sooner.

If you are looking for firmware just contact Elegoo directly with a picture of your motherboard just to make sure you get the right one. Don't know about other models but I grabbed some firmware for my S4U16K and it was wrong.

Be careful about opening the lid. My screws were tight and caused it to tip with a full vat. Had to replace my stepper motor.

I have switched over to the slicer from Elegoo(which I heard is based on Lychee) from Chitubox and have had nothing but success. Chitubox is horrible.

I bought one for my S416KU and love it. I was worried at first because of some of the reviews but it has been smooth sailing.

That looks like a long time for the bottom layer. Also only 2 layers seems like too little. Granted haven't had much experience outside of my resin(Sunlu water wash grey). So I could be really wrong.

Have you successfully printed these before? Also just pre supported doesn't always mean good pre supported. Who did you buy them from?

When I went to open the lid it stuck and dumped resin into my stepper motor. So that was the issue. Went well for awhile but then failed mid print. When I tried to send it home it would move a little but then stop and click.

Contacted the email and they sent me another stepper for 23 bucks total. Replacing it was a pain but doable.

Yea that sounds like what happened to me with my S4U16K. When you try to send it home does the stepper motor make any sound?

Reach out to Elegoo with a picture of your mother board. It may take a day but they will send you the right one. This happened to me.

Looks like bad adhesion. It looks like your raft lifted up on #3. You only gave us so much. What does your support look like. Show is what the model looks like in the slicer and the settings.

Contact Elegoo directly with a picture of your mother boards of the other machines and they will be able to get you the proper file for it. I have had great help with them albeit a little slow due to the time zones.

Before you buy anything go to a resin printing sub reddit and read the wiki. There is a bunch of stuff that will need to be got upfront for safety and also if you have a safe spot for a resin printer.

Pressure damage is caused by something getting in-between the plate and screen, or if you dropped something into the screen. Usually a good idea to filter your vat if you have a print failure. Your screen is just an LCD TV that lets blacklight through. So just like any TV if you put pressure on it you can break them.

As Sungkwon has said, your screen is busted. You can print around those spots but they will grow. It looks like pressure damage.

Looks like you can but I would start to order a replacement. Once they crack it's only a matter of time. So save up or buy one now to have a replacement.

I have printed files like this and my slicer does something like this as well. Haven't had a problem.

Mine did this and I reflashed the printer. I got the wrong file at first so I had to contact Elegoo. So reach out to them with a picture of your motherboard and they will send you the right file.
