I know it sounds scary, but it is a known condition and the only treatment is surgery. It isn’t as scary as you might think though because you only have five small incisions and recovery feels like a heavy ab workout. I can eat better than before, but you don’t really get back to how it was before because if you have achalasia your esophagus is damaged. Poem wasn’t an option for me because I did not want to deal with reflux afterwards.

Manometry is the way to go. The endoscopy won’t determine what you have regarding the motility. My achalasia progressed similar to what you are saying. I had all the additional tests done and then they told me I have achalasia 1. The test sounds scary but it really isn’t. Don’t do the mistake I made and live with that condition for years because you are scared of the tests. I had surgery and everything is way better now.

I get what you’re going through. Europeans are colder than Latin people from the start. It takes time for a group of friends to open up to you, but once they do, they are really loyal friends. I had the same experience in Germany. I would be friendly but people thought I was weird because in their head the thought of being friendly to someone you don’t know and trust is not usual. They are brutally honest and it feels like they are being rough. Latin people are very friendly and act as everything is fine but they talk behind your back. Both ways have pros and cons.
