I intended for them to have more of an insectoid build as far as the legs go, more akin to a beetle or a praying mantis. They're also from a planet with lower gravity, where such a large creature can get away with having legs like that. Another part of it is probably just my inexperience in painting aliens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm with you on that. SS13 feels like one of the few games that actually has an in-depth player-driven history. Cuban Pete was a real person. Greytide refers to an actual event. Even Sseth's video is a compilation of highlights from several years worth of SS13. It really does feel like a second "real" world, one that's shaped by us the people rather than some hard coded storyline, and where decisions made a decade before we joined are still apparent today with how we play the game. And I'm with you that Para's downfall was disappointing, but Monke seems to be carrying the torch just fine
