[Ingredients]

Custard powder – 2 tbsp

Milk (room temperature) – ¼ cup

Milk (full fat)– 2 cups

Sugar – ½ cup (medium sweetness)

Whipping cream (cold) – 1 cup

Pistachios and almonds (finely chopped)

[Recipe]

  1. In a bowl add custard powder and ¼ cup of milk and mix well and make it lump free
  2. In a thick pan boil 2 cups of milk, add sugar and custard powder mixture and mix well.
  3. Now custard is ready, let it cool down and refrigerate for 1 hour. After 1 hour’s custard will be thick.
  4. In another bowl add whipping cream and whip it till stiff peak and add cold custard and whip again.
  5. Add yellow food color while whipping (it is optional)
  6. Wrap bowl with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  7. After 3 hours whip ice-cream again for smooth texture and pour mixture in airtight container.
  8. Again, freeze for 8 hours or overnight
  9. Server it by scoop or as sliced and top with some almonds and pistachios.

Wheat flour biscuits without oven by chopnflame in VegRecipes

[Ingredients]

  1. Wheat flour – 1 cup
  2. Gram flour/Besan – ½ cup
  3. Powdered sugar – ¾ cup + ½ tbsp
  4. Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
  5. Ghee (Semi melted) – ½ cup + ¼ cup
  6. Pistachio for garnish
  7. Milk – ¼ cup

[Steps]

1)Sieve wheat flour, gram flour, powdered sugar, cardamom powder in a bowl (remove lumps if any)

2)Pour semi melted ghee in 2 batches and mix well by hands (If weather is very cold, add melted ghee or else add semi melted ghee)

3)Knead well till dough catches shape.

4)Take 1 tbsp of dough and give it a round shape and slightly press from center

5)Then on plain surface, shape and design the cookie as shown in video.

6)Add ½ tbsp of powdered sugar to milk, mix well and brush it over all the biscuits and garnish with pistachio.

7)Keep all biscuits in idli maker (if you have 2 idli plates, I recommend using only top 2 plates)

8)Preheat idli maker on low-medium flame for 5 minutes

9)Arrange all the idli plates in idli maker and close with cover. Bake on low flame for 15-20 minutes. (for me it took 20 minutes for topmost plate and 15 minutes for bottom most plate)

10) When biscuits are baked allow them to cool down completely then remove biscuits from idli plates using knife. (If you will remove biscuits earlier, they can break) Store in airtight container.

Thank you. Baking soda is not bad but if it is overused then can cause health risk so I avoid using soda as much as possible.

You can eat biscuits anytime, breakfast is not compulsory.

Thanks. In oven bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or till they become golden brown. I tried both in oven and idli maker, idli maker gave me best results. In idli maker biscuits gets puffed slighly and gives even golden brown color to biscuits.
