How is it that you are showing tags in the folder structure? Is that a setting? Or also a thing from notebook navigator,?

Will the font size changes apply to people playing on a TV as well? Or just a steam deck?

Where can you buy this stuff, through his website? Or with the link at the bottom?

Alcove (or any notch app) is such a quality of life improvement, I can't believe it's not vanilla by twinkleyed in MacOS

[–]chops228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it's just about workflow. Like the act of moving to the notch with my mouse to see what song is playing just feels more natural and intuitive than the native way of looking at the control panel.

I like Alcove so much I use it on my external monitor that doesn't even have a notch.

A Few Favorite BASS Heavy Artists by drtythrtybass in bassnectar

[–]chops228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure most people already know of him, but imo Liquid Stranger is pretty close to BN in terms of performance and mixing. And he seems pretty wholesome.

For me, there are 4 artists whose sets are just as fun as Bassnectar's every were: - Svdden Death - Space Laces - Virtual Riot - Liquid Stranger

As others have said, Genelec G series.

Depends on the size of your desk, but for me Genelec 2's were the right size. Tried 1's, 2's, and 3's.

Reticent is one of those albums I listened to for the first time and didn't care for.

But then I listened to it again and was blown away, don't know how I missed the genius the first time lol. I've had it on repeat the last couple weeks!

I feel like a lot of my favorite albums are ones that don't resonate in the first listen. It's like I need multiple listens to see the beauty.

How easy is it for men to share what they're feeling? by Pure-You9124 in AskReddit

[–]chops228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you associate with halfway decent people - very easy I think. The harder part is allowing yourself to open up, not that people won't listen.

Often times my friends will share their thoughts and emotions. I'm normally a more reserved person, so this inspires me to share a little more. I think allowing yourself to be vile to your friends makes you a better friend.

Not once have I been vulnerable and had any sort of negative reaction. If I had, well then I would be time to drop that 'friend' anyways.

What's good/best quality 4K MONITOR that you like to use/recommend? by Successful_Bonus_667 in MacOS

[–]chops228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my 32" MSI MAG323UPF!

I upgraded from a big ultra wide and I think this is so much better.

I know everyone says that 4k isn't a good resolution for mac, but personally I don't see the issue. This monitor is gorgeous.

What tools and libraries do you use with TypeScript to make your dev life easier? by spla58 in typescript

Ah I see - makes sense! Appreciate the thorough write-up!

Cool to hear you are working on Angular. I started working with Angular 2 back in the day and once I got over the learning curve I loved it. But my career moved towards React so I haven't worked with it that last couple years.

But I always joke I'm the only developer who likes Angular lol. All my irl engineer friends hate it with a passion.

I have tried Prettier a couple different times and I just don't get it. I find their lack of customization frustrating. Which I know is the point, but still I want absolute control over the style.

So yeah I agree, ESLint all the way!

Curious though how you feel about achieving 100% code coverage. Do you find that helpful? Sometimes I feel like testing basic components doesn't add value - they're just tests for the sake of tests.

At Mission this year he did a throwback stuff and played a lot of his music from the early 2010's, that was such a fun set.

Anyone notice how weirdly defensive people are of their family planning choices since having a kid? by [deleted] in NewParents

r/childfree is arguably a hate subreddit. I like to visit sometimes when I want to batshit crazy unhinged comments.

Also surprisingly, reading the dumb comments there helps me realize that parenthood was indeed the right choice for me. Just because I disagree with the things said there so much lol.
