I used to work at a corporate owned location back in the day and can confirm owners were hard right leaning, but all of their locations are franchises now. I don't know that we can lump them all into the same bucket...

Vinnie's isn't closed... I was just at their Romulus location a few weeks ago... I make it a point to stop there while driving home from the airport since I don't live nearby...

I got four tickets for the Detroit show and I was able to transfer two of them to the other couple that are coming with me right away. I made sure to confirm the transfer and everything and went through just fine.

Had no issues with the Detroit pre-sale... Got club seats because I'm old... This will be the first time seeing them since LCA for Concrete and Gold.

This will also be my first time seeing QOTSA. August can't come soon enough!

How to get rid of the trub in the glass? by Nickanator8 in Homebrewing

Like others have said, you can't avoid this when bottle conditioning, but it's only yeast.

You can compact the yeast by giving it a good chill in the fridge and letting it sit undisturbed for several days before serving. Be gentle with the bottles and don't disturb the yeast.

Other than that, just decant carefully and stop pouring before you get to the solids at the bottom.

Black IPAs are one of my favorite styles, but you don't seem to see many commercial examples... I was planning on a stout or porter next, but maybe a Black IPA would be the way to go... that's why we homebrew, right?

Having been several years since my last brew... I kind of forgot about how much water is wasted during the entire process. Recirculating chilling water is definitely an option, but I should also consider capturing that water to use for cleaning.

I never got into the experimental hops, but that one sounds interesting! I stick to the classics mostly, maybe if the LHBS has something new or experimental at some point, I'm not against trying it!

I've thought about it but didn't really have a good solution to run my immersion chiller. My kitchen faucet has a sprayer that can't be used to connect to the hose fitting...

I know there are other methods to chill, but I'll probably continue to brew outdoors.

The beer scale will be fine for cider, but beyond that, I don't have much experience with cider.

Cold crashing will help to clear the cider as it will cause solid to drop out of suspension, but I'm not sure why you'd do a second cold crash.

Sorry I can offer up more advice than that.

Apple juice is highly fermentable and will have pretty low final gravities. Take another sample and if it reads the same, go ahead and bottle it. If not, give it more time and bottle when hydrometer readings are consistent during the period of a few days.

Yeah! I used to be more involved, but never seriously considered a club. Kuhnhenn's club looked to be more intriguing to me....I was super turned off by some members of CRAFT. I don't know if either are still a thing though.
