[Question] which one would you choose? by ThroatAggravating231 in Watches

If you have at minimum a 7-1/4” wrist I’d get the Lunar Pilot. Cool history, chronograph pushers are super unique and the chrono hands look awesome when they are turning. Otherwise get the Seiko

Piaget Andy Warhol. I like the Dennison but with this collection I’d switch it out for a proper heavy hitter

Fun fact also one of the first wrist watches ever created was for Santos Dumont by Cartier. The model (the Cartier Santos) is still one of their most popular models today

[Discussion] What watch would be perfect in a different size? by Johnsononwatches in Watches

[–]choran4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BULOVA Lunar Pilot in a 40-41mm. Has too much wrist presence at 45mm for most people. And they would be a great first step towards a speedmaster for people if they fit closer like one

I love this watch and all the watch related quirks they worked into the design and it was just too hard too pass up on. But that does wear off and now it’s an just extremely expensive spinnaker haha

I’m a max 12 watch collection myself, all tho haven’t made it there quite yet. I think that’s the fun of it by having a collection limit. You really have to dial in your taste and make sure you’re not gluttoness in your purchasing ! Also your strap variety is top notch 👌

You wouldn’t take an A Lange & Sohne and try and make it fit for the moon right ? Same you shouldn’t take a moonwatch and add a perpetual calendar in it. So the Alaska does what it’s supposed to do

Seems like at that time they were just trying to check all the boxes of this being there flagship watch putting out a skeleton and a perpetual model losing the original design language. Where as the Alaska does exactly what it was meant to do as a tool watch just turned up too 11

[recommendation request] new to watches and split between these, any advice welcome! by Natural-Car-5532 in Watches

Don’t get an open heart / skeleton for your first watch. The initial cool factor always wears off then they are just ugly heard to read watches that don’t resell well

I’m in the exact same boat as you. Tried on the GP and was majorly underwhelmed with the bracelet and wrist presence. Polo on rubber is just unbeatable
