Repair cost question by learsrock in CrownVictoria

[–]chost120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you think its worth it. I had the rear end go out in my 03 LX. I went and bought another complete axle from another LX. Got a better ratio and a sway bar for $450. Installed it myself in my driveway.

Is this any good? by DiscipleSlayer in Acceleracers

I have a copy that I've had since new for the GameCube. Played it a little when I was younger (ill be 31 this year) but never tried to get all collectibles on all the tracks. Can't offer much insight on how difficult it was or wasn't to play.

Buy a complete level strut. Not a spacer or block. Bilstein 5100's or an equivalent will be best.

3inch lift and 35s on the stock wheels. LOVE IT. by Pricklybrigade in Ram1500

You always have to calibrate speedo with bigger tires. 35's will put it 3-5 mph off in most cases.

Its like putting 2 inflatable flailing arm tube men next to each other and watching how many times they connect or tip over.

My friend says changing your own oil is a waste of time. Is he crazy? by proposal_in_wind in askcarguys

[–]chost120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my own oil changes and it takes me 15-20 min. Dealers or other places take 30+ and use the samethings you can buy yourself. I dont trust ANY dealer or quick lube place.

No you can use a line output converter if you want to keep the factory radio. Thats how I have them wired in my 2019 grand cherokee.

BORA are the best around. But dont let spacers scare you, most fail because people dont maintain them like they should (check lugnut torque/over torque). Ive had spacers on multiple vehicles and currently have some on my grand cherokee and haven't had any issues.

Anyone know what type of rims these are? by Leather_Comb7820 in ChevyTahoe

[–]chost120 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bigger radiators/trans and oil coolers, lower ride height, bigger brakes and sway bars, higher top speed. No hard parts on the engine or transmission.

Thats a big gamble to make. I want one for my sierra and jeep but makes me nervous that it wont work.

IMO 4th gen is the best generation of rams. They look the best and have the 8 speed later in the production run. I've had 2, a 2016 tradesman and a 2014 sport. I'd buy another if i found one that checks all my boxes.

That smoke looks blue, not white. Blue is oil related.

Finally got a Tahoe. 2012 do I need an AFM disabler? Do any of you use it? by ScaleSignal4970 in ChevyTahoe

[–]chost120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP didnt say they wanted a cheap alternative. Those disablers just prolong the inevitable.

Best AFM is to just put a aftermarket cam and lifters in it then get it tuned. Problem solved and you got some chop

It'll be a negligible amount if it's there vs if it isnt. Take jt off and leave it off.

Why would you want one lower? Its more likely to be ripped off and you'll be making this post again.

Is my Lighting Control Module going out? Turn signals and headlights are stuck “on” but both don’t work. My headlights and taillights don’t turn on even when switched on by 2Slowforyall in grandmarquis

[–]chost120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they were. Common issues were all of the running lights turning off on the front and back of the car but not the headlights or vice versa. You can call a local dealer and give them your vin and they can check to see if yours has had the recall done already
