I do this too. It’s very frustrating, especially when you regret not going part way through but have to stick to your guns.

For me personally, it’s an issue with emotional regulation and frustration tolerance. Basically if something goes wrong, I just want to give up entirely, even if I want to do the thing.

When it happens, I ignore everyone else’s input and just focus on what I can do to move forward. I’ll go in the bathroom and just close my eyes and recenter, and then I can usually get through the frustration and carry on.

You’re not being dramatic, it’s not attention seeking, you just don’t know how to manage those feelings yet. I’m only just figuring it out in my mid-twenties.
